3. Setup

1. Battery Installation: The Spirograph Animator requires 3 AAA batteries (not included). Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the animator unit. Use a small screwdriver to open the compartment, insert the batteries according to the polarity markings, and securely close the cover.
2. Prepare the Paper: Take one sheet from the 100-sheet no-slip paper pad. The paper has a slightly sticky back to help it stay in place.
3. Place Paper on Platform: Lift the red design ring and spinner platform from the animator base. Carefully place a sheet of paper onto the center of the spinner platform, ensuring it is flat and centered.
4. Secure Design Ring: Place the red design ring back onto the spinner platform, aligning it with the pegs on the base. Press down gently to secure the paper between the platform and the ring.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Creating Designs

1. Choose a Wheel: Select one of the 6 Spirograph wheels. Each wheel has different tooth counts and hole patterns, allowing for a variety of designs.
2. Select a Pen: Choose one of the fine-line pens provided, or use your own compatible pen.
3. Start Drawing: Place the chosen wheel inside the 105-tooth design ring on the animator. Insert the tip of your pen into one of the holes on the wheel. Gently press down and rotate the wheel along the inner edge of the design ring.
4. Complete Your Design: Continue rotating the wheel until you complete a full pattern. You can change pen colors or switch to different holes on the wheel to create more complex and colorful designs. For best results, draw slowly and maintain consistent pressure.

4.2. Animating Designs

Once your design is complete, you can bring it to life:

1. Power On: Ensure the design with paper is securely in place on the spinner platform. Press the power button located on the animator base to turn on the flashing LED strobe lights.
2. Spin the Platform: Gently spin the spinner platform with your finger. The platform will continue to rotate, and the strobe lights will illuminate your design.
3. Observe Animation: The combination of the spinning design and the flashing strobe lights creates a stroboscopic effect, making your static drawing appear to move and animate in unique ways. Different designs and colors will produce varied animation effects.
4. Hold Animation: Press the 'Hold' button on the animator base to temporarily freeze the animation on a specific movement or pattern. Release the button to resume continuous animation.

• Paper not staying in place:
