Introduction

This manual provides essential instructions for the proper installation, use, and maintenance of your SALAV Water Filter. Setup and Installation

The SALAV Water Filter features a simple one-step installation process.

1. Ensure Steamer is Off and Unplugged: Before beginning, always ensure your garment steamer is turned off and unplugged from the power outlet.
2. Remove Water Tank: Carefully remove the water tank from your SALAV Garment Steamer.
3. Locate Filter Compartment: Identify the filter compartment within the water tank. This is typically a designated slot or area where the filter sits.

4. Insert New Filter: Place the new SALAV Water Filter into the compartment. Ensure it sits securely and flush. The "TOP" marking on the filter (if present) should face upwards.
5. Fill Water Tank: Fill the water tank with regular tap water. The filter is designed to work effectively with tap water.
6. Reinstall Water Tank: Carefully reinsert the water tank back into the garment steamer until it clicks into place.

Your SALAV Water Filter is now installed and ready for use.

Operating Instructions

Once the water filter is installed, operate your SALAV Garment Steamer as per its original instruction manual. The filter works automatically to purify the water as it is drawn into the steamer.

Note: The water filter does not require any special operating procedures beyond its initial installation.

Maintenance and Replacement

The SALAV Water Filter is a consumable item and requires periodic replacement to maintain optimal performance and prolong the life of your steamer.

When to Replace the Filter:

• Reduced Steam Output: If you notice a significant decrease in steam production from your garment steamer.
• Visible Mineral Buildup: If you observe white mineral deposits (limescale) on the steamer's heating element or steam nozzle.
• Discoloration of Filter Beads: The filter beads may change color over time, indicating they are saturated and less effective.
• Recommended Interval: For average use, it is recommended to replace the filter every 3 to 6 months, or more frequently in areas with hard water.

Replacement Procedure:

Follow the same steps as the initial installation to replace an old filter with a new one:

1. Turn off and unplug the steamer.
2. Remove the water tank.
3. Carefully remove the old filter from its compartment. Dispose of the old filter responsibly.
4. Insert a new SALAV Water Filter.
5. Refill the water tank and reinstall it into the steamer.

Regular replacement ensures continuous descaling and water purification.

Troubleshooting

If you experience issues with your steamer after installing the filter, consider the following:

• No Steam or Low Steam:
  • Ensure the water tank is properly seated and filled.
  • Check if the filter is correctly installed and not obstructing water flow.
  • If the filter is old, it may be saturated; replace it.
• Water Leaking:
  • Verify the water tank is securely attached to the steamer.
  • Ensure the filter is properly seated in its compartment.
