5. Setup
5.1. Power Connection
- Connect the provided power adapter to the micro-USB port on the rear of the radio.
- Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet.
- Ensure the main power switch on the rear is in the 'ON' position.
5.2. Battery Installation
The STERNRADIO IR 2 includes a replaceable BL5C Lithium-ion battery for portable use.
- Locate the battery compartment on the rear of the radio.
- Open the compartment cover.
- Insert the BL5C battery, ensuring correct polarity.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.

5.3. Initial Setup (Wi-Fi, Time, Date)
Upon first power-on, the radio will guide you through the initial setup process.
- Language Selection: Use the rotary knob to select your preferred language and press OK.
- Wi-Fi Network Connection:
- The radio will scan for available Wi-Fi networks.
- Select your network from the list using the rotary knob and press OK.
- Enter your Wi-Fi password using the on-screen keyboard and rotary knob. Press OK to confirm.
- Once connected, the Wi-Fi icon will appear on the display.
- Time and Date: The radio will usually synchronize time and date automatically via the internet. If not, you can set it manually through the system settings.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Basic Navigation
Use the rotary knob to scroll through menus and options. Press the OK button to confirm a selection. The Menu button accesses main settings, Fav for favorites, and Dimmer to adjust display brightness.

6.2. Internet Radio
Access thousands of internet radio stations from around the world.
- From the main menu, select 'Internet Radio'.
- Browse stations by categories such as 'Top Stations', 'Genre', or 'Location'.
- Use the rotary knob to select a station and press OK to start playback.

6.3. Favorite Stations and Direct Selection Keys
You can save up to 250 internet radio stations to your personal favorites list and assign 5 of them to the direct selection keys (1-5) on the front panel.
- Saving a Favorite: While listening to a station, press and hold the Fav button until 'Saved to Favorites' appears.
- Assigning Direct Keys: In the favorites menu, select a station, then choose 'Assign to Direct Key' and select a key (1-5).
- Recalling Favorites: Press the Fav button to access your full favorites list, or simply press one of the direct selection keys (1-5) for instant access.
6.4. AUX-IN Mode
Connect external audio devices like MP3 players or smartphones to the radio.
- Connect a 3.5mm audio cable from your external device's headphone jack to the AUX-IN jack on the rear of the STERNRADIO IR 2.
- Select 'AUX-IN' from the radio's main menu.
- Control playback and volume from your external device.

6.5. UPnP Streaming
Stream music from devices on your home network (e.g., a computer or NAS drive) to the STERNRADIO IR 2.

6.6. Alarm Clock, Snooze, and Sleep Timer
The radio includes comprehensive alarm and sleep functions.
- Alarm Clock: Set multiple alarms with adjustable alarm rhythm (daily, weekday, weekend) and volume. Choose to wake up to internet radio or soothing soundscapes.
- Snooze Function: When an alarm sounds, press the rotary knob or a designated button to temporarily silence it for a short period.
- Sleep Timer: Set a timer for the radio to automatically turn off after a specified duration, allowing you to fall asleep to music.

6.7. Display Settings
Customize the 2.4-inch color display to your preference.

- Standby Display: In standby mode, the display can show time, date, and local weather information.

6.8. App Control (AirMusic Control)
Control your STERNRADIO IR 2 using the AirMusic Control app on your smartphone or tablet.

7. Maintenance
