Maintenance
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your Fookoo Backup Camera System, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning the Monitor: Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to clean the monitor screen. For stubborn smudges, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a screen-safe cleaner. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
- Cleaning the Camera Lens: Regularly inspect and clean the camera lens to ensure a clear view. Use a soft cloth and, if necessary, a mild glass cleaner. Remove any dirt, mud, or water spots that may obstruct the view.
- Cable Inspection: Periodically check all cables and connections for any signs of wear, fraying, or corrosion. Ensure all connections remain secure to prevent signal loss or power issues.
- Environmental Protection: While the camera is IP69 waterproof and designed for extreme temperatures, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or extreme cold when not in use can be minimized by parking in shaded areas or using protective covers if available.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Fookoo Backup Camera System, consider the following basic troubleshooting steps:
- No Image on Monitor:
- Check all power connections to ensure they are secure and receiving power.
- Verify that the 4-pin video cables are securely connected between the camera and the monitor, with notches aligned.
- Ensure the monitor is powered on.
- Flickering or Distorted Image:
- Check for loose cable connections.
- Ensure there is no electromagnetic interference from other vehicle electronics.
- Clean the camera lens.
- Recording Not Working:
- Ensure an SD card (32GB-128GB) is inserted correctly.
- Check if the SD card is full; the system should automatically overwrite, but a faulty card might prevent this. Try formatting the card or using a different one.
- Parking Lines Not Appearing:
- Verify that the green trigger wire (if used) is correctly connected to the reverse light power.
- Check monitor settings to ensure parking lines are enabled.
