4. Setup and Installation

The TECKNET Wireless Doorbell is designed for easy installation with two primary methods: self-adhesive or screw-in.

4.1 Transmitter (Push Button) Installation

  1. Choose a Location: Select a suitable location for your push button, typically near your front door. Ensure the surface is clean and dry.
  2. Method 1: Double-sided Adhesive Installation:
    • Peel off one side of the double-sided adhesive tape and firmly attach it to the back of the push button.
    • Peel off the other side of the tape and press the push button firmly onto the desired surface for at least 30 seconds.
  3. Method 2: Screw Installation:
    • Open the back cover of the push button.
    • Mark the positions for drilling holes using the back cover as a template.
    • Drill holes, insert wall anchors (if necessary), and secure the back cover with screws.
    • Attach the push button to the secured back cover.

4.2 Receiver (Chime) Installation

Simply plug the doorbell receivers into any standard wall socket in your desired locations. The receivers are designed to not block the second outlet, allowing for continued use of the power point.

4.3 Pairing and Initial Setup

The doorbell kit comes pre-paired from the factory. If re-pairing is needed or you wish to add more transmitters/receivers:

  1. Plug in the receiver.
  2. Press and hold the volume button on the receiver for 5 seconds until the LED indicator flashes rapidly. This indicates pairing mode.
  3. Quickly press the push button (transmitter). The receiver will chime and the LED will stop flashing, indicating successful pairing.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Changing Ringtones

To change the melody:

  1. Press the 'Music' button on the side of the receiver to cycle through the 60 available chime tunes.
  2. Once you find a desired melody, press the push button to confirm and set it. The doorbell will remember this setting.

5.2 Adjusting Volume Levels

To adjust the volume:

  1. Press the 'Volume' button on the side of the receiver to cycle through the 5 adjustable volume levels (0dB to 110dB).
  2. Select the volume level that best suits your needs. The doorbell will retain this setting.

  • Cleaning: Wipe the doorbell push button and receivers with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Weather Resistance: The push button has an IP66 dustproof and waterproof rating, ensuring reliable operation in various weather conditions. It is designed to work effectively in temperatures ranging from -4°F to 140°F (-20°C to 60°C).

7. Troubleshooting

  • No Sound from Receiver:
    • Ensure the receiver is properly plugged into a live power outlet.
    • Check the volume level. Press the 'Volume' button to increase it.
    • Re-pair the transmitter and receiver (refer to Section 4.3).
  • Limited Wireless Range:
    • While the doorbell has a long range (up to 1300ft), thick walls or metal structures can reduce the signal. Try relocating the receiver to a more central position or closer to the transmitter.
    • Ensure there are no large metal objects directly between the transmitter and receiver.
  • Interference with Other Devices:
    • The doorbell is designed to minimize interference. If you experience issues, try changing the chime tune on the receiver.
  • Doorbell Not Responding After Power Outage:
    • The doorbell has a memory function and should retain settings. If it doesn't, unplug and re-plug the receiver. If issues persist, re-pair the devices.
