Reading Animal Tags
The Animal Tag Reader utilizes advanced radio frequency technology for non-contact reading. To read a tag:
- Ensure the device is powered on.
- Position the reader near the animal's microchip or ear tag. The optimal reading distance for glass tube labels is 2~12mm (effective up to >5cm), and for 30mm animal ear tags, it is up to >15cm.
- The device will automatically detect and display the tag information on its high-brightness 0.91-inch screen. A buzzer will sound upon successful reading.
- The read response time is less than 100 milliseconds, ensuring quick identification.

Maintenance
Cleaning
To clean the device, use a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth with mild soap can be used, ensuring no liquid enters the device openings. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
Storage
Store the Animal Tag Reader in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. When storing for extended periods, ensure the battery is partially charged (around 50%) to prolong its lifespan.
Troubleshooting
Device Not Powering On
- Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the device to a power source using the USB cable and allow it to charge for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on again.
- Verify that the power button is being pressed and held correctly.
Unable to Read Tags
- Ensure the tag is within the optimal reading distance (2~12mm for glass tube, up to 15cm for ear tags).
- Verify that the tag is compatible with the reader (EMID, FDX-B, ISO1784/85).
- Check for any physical obstructions between the reader and the tag.
Data Transfer Issues
- Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the reader and the computer.
- Try a different USB port on your computer.
- Verify that your computer's operating system recognizes new USB devices.
