Introduction

The VTech Kidi Star DJ Mixer allows users to create custom music mixes, scratch, and jam with built-in songs or external music sources. Setup

Battery Installation

The VTech Kidi Star DJ Mixer requires 4 AA batteries for operation. Batteries are included for demo purposes only; new batteries are recommended for regular use. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the unit, open it, insert the batteries according to the polarity markings (+/-), and close the compartment securely.

Initial Power On

Press the red power button located on the top-left of the unit to turn on the DJ Mixer. The disco ball and various buttons will light up, indicating the unit is ready for use.

Operating Instructions

The Kidi Star DJ Mixer offers various modes and features for an interactive music experience.

Audio Source Selection

Select your audio source using the buttons at the top-left:

• VOCALS: Activates the built-in microphone for vocal effects.
• LINE IN: Connect an external music player via audio cable (not included).
• BLUETOOTH: Pair with a Bluetooth-enabled music device.

Main Modes

The DJ Mixer features three main play modes, selectable via the buttons above the display:

• DJ PARTY: Mix and jam with 15 built-in songs and over 2000 sound combinations.
• STUDIO: Create and record your own custom mixes.
• ACADEMY: Learn DJ skills by following rhythmic patterns in a music game.

Controls and Features

• DJ Turntable: Use the large circular turntable to scratch and add effects to your mix.
• Sound Grid: The grid of buttons on the right allows you to trigger various sound effects and loops.
• Sliders: Adjust volume and other effects using the sliders below the display.
• Party Lights: The disco ball at the top projects dazzling light patterns. Use the LIGHT button to cycle through light modes.
• Volume & Tempo: Adjust the overall volume and music tempo using the dedicated knobs and buttons.
• Record Songs: Record your mixes (up to 3 minutes each) and play them back through the built-in speaker or connected headphones (not included).

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity of your VTech Kidi Star DJ Mixer:

• Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
• Store the DJ Mixer in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.

Troubleshooting

• No Power: Ensure batteries are correctly installed and are not depleted. Replace with new batteries if necessary.
