1. Setup

1.1 Unpacking and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all items listed in the 'What's Included' section are present and undamaged. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.

1.2 Charging the Unit

Before first use, fully charge the Waterpik ION Professional Water Flosser for 4-6 hours. Connect the USB-A charging cord to the unit and a compatible USB-A wall adapter (not included). The LED indicator will glow during charging and should slowly fade from bright to dim when charging properly. A full charge provides up to 4 weeks of typical use.

1.3 Attaching a Tip

Select the desired flossing tip. Insert the tip into the center of the flossing handle until it clicks into place. To remove a tip, press the tip eject button on the side of the handle and pull the tip out.

1.4 Filling the Reservoir

Lift the reservoir lid and fill the reservoir with lukewarm water. You may also add a small amount of mouthwash to the water. Ensure the reservoir is securely placed back on the base before use.

2.1 First-Time Use (Priming the Unit)

For first-time use, or if the unit has not been used for an extended period, prime the unit. Fill the reservoir with water. Point the flossing handle into the sink. Turn the unit ON by sliding the ON/OFF switch on the handle to the 'ON' position. Set the pressure control dial to the highest setting (10). Allow water to flow until it is consistent. Then, turn the unit OFF.

2.2 Daily Use

1. Fill the reservoir with lukewarm water.
2. Insert the flossing tip into your mouth, aiming the tip at the gumline at a 90-degree angle.
3. Slide the ON/OFF switch on the handle to the 'ON' position.
4. Adjust the pressure setting using the dial on the unit. Start with the lowest setting and gradually increase to a comfortable pressure.
5. Lean over the sink and close your lips slightly to prevent splashing, while still allowing water to flow into the sink.
6. Guide the tip along the gumline, pausing briefly between teeth.
7. The built-in timer/pacer will pause briefly at 30 seconds and 1 minute to help you track flossing time. Continue until the reservoir is empty or you have cleaned all areas.
8. When finished, slide the ON/OFF switch on the handle to the 'OFF' position.

2.3 Pressure Settings
