2. Product Overview

The TECKNET Wireless Doorbell System consists of:

  • 1 x Battery-Free Transmitter: The outdoor push button that generates its own power when pressed.
  • 2 x Plug-in Receivers: Indoor units that plug into standard EU electrical outlets and produce the chime. Each receiver includes an integrated pass-through socket.

3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Transmitter Installation

The transmitter is battery-free and self-powered. It can be installed outdoors due to its IP65 waterproof rating, ensuring resistance to dust and water splashes. Avoid direct high-pressure water exposure.

  1. Choose a Location: Select a suitable location near your entrance. Ensure the surface is clean and dry.
  2. Mounting Options:
    • Adhesive Mounting: Peel off the protective film from the adhesive pad (provided) and firmly press the transmitter onto the desired surface for at least 30 seconds.
    • Screw Mounting: Use the provided screws and anchors to securely attach the transmitter to the wall.

3.2 Receiver Installation

The receivers are designed for indoor use and plug directly into standard EU electrical outlets.

  1. Plug In: Insert each receiver into a standard EU wall socket. The integrated pass-through socket allows you to continue using the outlet for other devices, provided the total load does not exceed 2200 Watts.
  2. Placement: Place receivers in locations where the chime can be easily heard throughout your home. The system offers a transmission range of up to 400 meters (1300 feet) in open areas.

5. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your TECKNET doorbell system, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Wipe the transmitter and receivers with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Transmitter Placement: Periodically check the transmitter's mounting to ensure it remains secure. While waterproof, avoid prolonged submersion or direct high-pressure water jets.
  • Receiver Placement: Ensure receivers are plugged into stable power outlets and are not obstructed by furniture or other objects that could dampen the sound.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your doorbell system, please refer to the following common solutions:

  • No Sound from Receiver:
    • Ensure the receiver is properly plugged into a working electrical outlet.
    • Check the volume level. It might be set to 0 dB (mute).
    • Verify that the transmitter button is being pressed firmly.
  • Poor Transmission Range or Intermittent Operation:
    • The maximum range of 400 meters is for open areas. Walls, metal structures, and other electronic devices can reduce the effective range.
    • Relocate the receiver to a more central position or closer to the transmitter.
    • Ensure there are no large metal objects directly between the transmitter and receiver.
    • The system uses a digital code to prevent interference with neighbors' doorbells. If interference is suspected, try re-pairing the units (refer to the full manual for pairing instructions if needed, though typically they are pre-paired).
  • Transmitter Not Activating Receiver:
    • Ensure the transmitter is securely mounted and the button mechanism is not obstructed.
    • Confirm the receiver is powered on and within range.
