The Cricut Mug Press is a compact heat press specifically for Infusible Ink compatible mugs. It features a patent-pending heat plate with zone heating for consistent results. This device is intended for adult use only and should be operated in a well-ventilated area due to vapor emission during heat transfer.

2. Setup

2.1 Unboxing and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove the Cricut Mug Press from its packaging. Inspect the device for any signs of damage. Ensure all components, including the power cord and USB cable, are present.

2.2 Placement

Place the Mug Press on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Using a Cricut EasyPress Mat or similar heat-resistant pad is recommended to protect your work surface from heat. Ensure adequate ventilation around the device.

2.3 Power Connection and Activation

1. Connect the power cord to the Mug Press and then to a power outlet.
2. Connect the Mug Press to your computer via the provided USB cable.
3. Visit cricut.com/setup to activate your product. Activation is required for initial use.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the activation process. If the device flashes orange, re-attempt activation or contact Cricut support.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Preparing Your Design

• Create your design using Cricut Design Space software.
• Ensure your design is mirrored before cutting or drawing with Infusible Ink materials.
• Use Infusible Ink Transfer Sheets, Pens, or Markers (sold separately) for best results.

3.2 Preparing Your Mug

• Use only Infusible Ink compatible mugs, 11-16 oz (350-470 ml) with straight walls (82-86 mm diameter +/- 1 mm).
• Clean the mug surface thoroughly to remove any dust or debris.
• Carefully wrap your Infusible Ink design around the mug, ensuring it is smooth and securely taped with heat-resistant tape.

3.3 Using the Mug Press

1. Turn on the Mug Press by pressing the power button. The progress lights will illuminate as the device heats up.
2. Once all progress lights are solid green, the press is ready.
3. Lift the lever on the side of the Mug Press to open the heating chamber.
4. Carefully insert the prepared mug into the chamber. Ensure the design is positioned correctly.
5. Lower the lever to close the chamber. The press will automatically apply heat and pressure. The progress lights will indicate the transfer status.
6. When the transfer is complete, the Mug Press will beep, and the progress lights will turn solid green.
7. Lift the lever to open the chamber. Carefully remove the mug by its handle. The mug will be very hot.
8. Place the hot mug on a heat-resistant surface (e.g., Cricut EasyPress Mat) and allow it to cool completely before handling or removing the Infusible Ink transfer sheet.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

• Ensure the Mug Press is unplugged and completely cool before cleaning.
• Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• The heating chamber should be kept clean. If any residue is present, gently wipe it with a soft cloth.

4.2 Storage

Store the Mug Press in a dry, dust-free environment when not in use. Keep it away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

4.3 Mug Care

Finished Infusible Ink mugs are dishwasher compatible.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Activation Issues

• If the Mug Press flashes orange during activation, ensure it is properly connected to your computer via USB and try the activation process again at cricut.com/setup.
• If issues persist, try a different USB port or cable. Contact Cricut Customer Service if the problem continues.

5.2 Uneven or Faded Transfers

• Ensure you are using Infusible Ink compatible mugs and materials.
• Verify that the design is securely and smoothly applied to the mug with heat-resistant tape.
• Confirm the mug meets the size requirements (11-16 oz, straight wall, 82-86 mm diameter).

5.3 Mug Press Not Heating

• Check that the power cord is securely plugged into both the device and the power outlet.
• Ensure the power button has been pressed and the progress lights are attempting to illuminate.
• If the device shows no signs of power, try a different outlet.
