Setup

1. Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge your Polar Verity Sense. Connect the sensor to the included USB charger and plug it into a USB port or a USB power adapter. The LED indicator on the sensor will show charging status.

2. Wearing the Device

The Polar Verity Sense offers flexible wearing options for optimal heart rate tracking.

• Armband: Wear the sensor snugly on your upper arm or forearm, with the optical sensor facing your skin. Ensure it is not too tight to restrict circulation, nor too loose to move during activity.
• Goggle Clip: For swimming, attach the sensor to your swimming goggles at the temple, ensuring the optical sensor makes firm contact with your skin.
• Under Clothing: The sensor can also be placed directly against the skin under tight-fitting clothing, such as a sports bra, for discreet monitoring.

3. Pairing with Devices

The Verity Sense supports both Bluetooth and ANT+ connectivity, allowing connection to a wide range of fitness apps, sports watches, and gym equipment.

1. Activate Sensor: Press the button on the side of the sensor once to turn it on. The LED will flash.
2. Bluetooth Pairing: On your compatible device (smartphone, sports watch), open the Bluetooth settings or the specific fitness app. Search for new devices and select "Polar Verity Sense" from the list. Follow any on-screen prompts to complete pairing. The sensor supports two simultaneous Bluetooth connections.
3. ANT+ Pairing: For ANT+ compatible devices, ensure the Verity Sense is active. On your ANT+ device, initiate a search for heart rate sensors. The Verity Sense will appear as an available sensor.

4. App Installation

For full functionality, including detailed workout analysis and settings management, download the Polar Flow app from your device's app store. The Polar Beat app can also be used for real-time heart rate tracking and recording.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

• Power On: Press the side button once. The LED will light up.
• Power Off: Press and hold the side button until the LED turns off.

2. Starting a Workout

Once paired with your desired device or app, simply start your workout. The Verity Sense will automatically begin transmitting heart rate data. For standalone recording, turn on the sensor and begin your activity; it will store data internally.

3. Real-time Monitoring and Recording

• Real-time: View your heart rate on your connected sports watch, cycling computer, or fitness app.
• Recording: The Verity Sense can record up to 600 hours of training data internally. To record a session without a connected device, simply turn on the sensor and start your activity.

4. Data Transfer

After your workout, synchronize your Verity Sense with the Polar Flow app to transfer recorded data. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone and the sensor is turned on. Open the Polar Flow app, and the data transfer will typically occur automatically.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: After each use, rinse the sensor and armband under running water. Gently clean the optical sensor window with a soft cloth if necessary. Do not use alcohol or abrasive materials.
• Armband Care: The armband can be machine washed at 40°C (104°F) in a laundry bag. Do not bleach, iron, dry clean, or tumble dry.
• Battery Care: Recharge the battery regularly. Avoid fully discharging the battery for extended periods. Store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use.
• Storage: Store the sensor and accessories in a clean, dry environment away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Troubleshooting

Device not turning on:

Ensure the battery is charged. Connect to the charger and check the LED indicator.

No heart rate reading:

• Ensure the sensor is worn snugly against the skin.
• Clean the optical sensor window.
• Try repositioning the sensor on your arm.
• Ensure the sensor is turned on and paired correctly.

Connectivity issues (Bluetooth/ANT+):

• Ensure the sensor is turned on and within range of the receiving device.
• Check Bluetooth/ANT+ settings on your receiving device.
• Restart both the sensor and the receiving device.
• Ensure no other apps are interfering with the connection.

Data not syncing to Polar Flow app:

• Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and the sensor is on.
• Open the Polar Flow app and ensure it's updated to the latest version.
• Try restarting your phone and the sensor.
