5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Understanding the Ratcheting Mechanism

The screwdriver features a 3-position ratcheting collar located near the shaft. This collar allows you to select the desired mode of operation:

  • Clockwise (Forward): For fastening screws. The shaft will turn when rotating clockwise and freewheel when rotating counter-clockwise.
  • Counter-Clockwise (Reverse): For loosening screws. The shaft will turn when rotating counter-clockwise and freewheel when rotating clockwise.
  • Locked Position: For traditional, non-ratcheting use. The shaft will be fixed in both directions, allowing for maximum torque application or precise control.

5.2 General Operation

  1. Select the correct bit for the screw head.
  2. Insert the bit into the magnetic bit holder.
  3. Adjust the ratcheting collar to the desired position (clockwise for fastening, counter-clockwise for loosening, or locked for fixed use).
  4. Place the bit into the screw head, applying firm, steady pressure.
  5. Rotate the handle to drive or remove the screw. The ratcheting mechanism will allow you to maintain continuous contact with the screw head while repositioning your grip.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the screwdriver handle and shaft with a clean, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Bit Care: Keep bits clean and free of debris. Store them in the designated internal storage or magnetic holder to prevent loss and corrosion.
  • Storage: Store the screwdriver in a dry environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

7. Troubleshooting

Problem: Bits are difficult to remove from the magnetic bit holder.
Solution: Some bits may fit very snugly initially. Gently wiggle the bit while pulling to loosen it. Over time, with regular use, the fit may become easier. Ensure the bit is clean and free of any foreign material that might cause it to stick.
Problem: Ratcheting mechanism feels stiff or is not engaging properly.
Solution: Ensure the ratcheting collar is fully engaged in one of the three positions (forward, reverse, or locked). Clean any debris that may have accumulated around the collar. If the issue persists, contact customer support.
