Controls and Features:
- Tail Dial: Used to power the device on/off and select content categories (Stories, Songs, Lullabies).
- Eye Buttons (Left/Right): Navigate forward or backward through content.
- Nose Button: Play/Pause button. Press and hold for 5 seconds to activate Timer mode.
- Microphone: For recording your own stories.
- Headphone Jack: For private listening (headphones not included).
- Digital Display: Shows track numbers or timer settings.
- Speaker: Outputs audio.

5. Setup
5.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the Story Pal.
- Using a screwdriver, loosen the screw on the battery cover.
- Remove the battery cover.
- Insert 3 new AA (LR6) batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure it.
Note: For optimal performance, use new alkaline batteries. Rechargeable batteries are not recommended due to potential performance variations.
5.2 Power On/Off
- To turn the Story Pal ON, rotate the Tail Dial from the "OFF" position to any content category (e.g., Stories, Songs).
- To turn the Story Pal OFF, rotate the Tail Dial to the "OFF" position.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Content Selection
- Rotate the Tail Dial to select a content category:
- Book Icon: Stories
- Music Note Icon: Songs & Poems
- Moon Icon: Lullabies
- Once a category is selected, use the Left and Right Eye Buttons to navigate through the available content. The digital display will show the track number.
- Press the Nose Button to play or pause the selected content.
6.2 Recording Your Voice
The Story Pal allows you to record up to 10 minutes of your own voice, such as reading a favorite story.
- Select the "Stories" category using the Tail Dial.
- Navigate to an empty recording slot using the Eye Buttons (refer to the display for available slots).
- Press and hold the Nose Button until you hear a beep, indicating recording has started.
- Speak clearly into the microphone.
- Press the Nose Button again to stop recording.
- Your recording is now saved and can be played back like other stories.
6.3 Creating a Playlist
You can create a custom playlist of up to five stories, songs, poems, or lullabies.
- While a desired content item is playing or selected, press and hold both Eye Buttons simultaneously until you hear a confirmation sound. This adds the item to your playlist.
- Repeat for up to five items.
- To play your playlist, navigate to the dedicated playlist option within the content categories (indicated by a specific icon, refer to the device's display).
- To clear the playlist, press and hold both Eye Buttons for an extended period until a clear confirmation sound is heard.
6.4 Timer Function
The timer function allows the Story Pal to play content for a set duration before automatically shutting off.
- Press and hold the Nose Button for 5 seconds to activate Timer mode. The display will show a timer setting.
- Use the Left and Right Eye Buttons to adjust the timer duration (e.g., 15 minutes, 30 minutes).
- Press the Nose Button again to confirm the timer setting and start playback. The device will automatically turn off after the set time.
- To deactivate the timer, press and hold the Nose Button for 5 seconds again, or turn the device off and on.
6.5 Headphone Use
A standard 3.5mm headphone jack is located on the side of the Story Pal for private listening. Insert headphones (not included) into the jack. The external speaker will automatically mute when headphones are connected.
7. Connecting to a Computer
