3. Setup
The Poly Studio P5 webcam is designed for simple plug-and-play setup on both PC and Mac systems.
- Attach the Monitor Clamp: If not already attached, secure the removable monitor clamp to the base of the webcam. Ensure it is firmly in place.
- Mount the Webcam:
- On a Monitor: Place the webcam on top of your computer monitor, adjusting the clamp to securely grip the top edge of the screen.
- On a Tripod: The webcam features a standard 1/4-20 tripod screw thread. Remove the monitor clamp if desired, and screw the webcam onto a compatible tripod for alternative placement.
- Connect to Computer: Plug the integrated USB-A cable from the webcam into an available USB port on your computer. The webcam is USB-powered and does not require an external power adapter.
- Install Poly Lens App (Recommended): For advanced settings and firmware updates, download and install the Poly Lens Desktop App from the official Poly website. This application allows you to customize video settings, manage devices, and receive health and wellness reminders.

4. Operating Instructions
- Initiating Video: Once connected, the webcam should be automatically recognized by your operating system and video conferencing applications (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom). Select "Poly Studio P5" as your camera and microphone input within your application's settings.
- Privacy Shutter: The Poly Studio P5 features an integrated privacy shutter. To activate or deactivate the camera, simply twist the ring around the lens. A red indicator signifies the shutter is closed, ensuring privacy.

- Using the Built-in USB Port: The webcam includes a USB-A port located on its rear. This port is designed to connect a Poly Bluetooth headset or speakerphone directly to the webcam, consolidating connections and freeing up a USB port on your computer.

- Cable Management: Avoid sharp bends or kinks in the USB cable to prevent internal damage.

- No Video/Audio:
- Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the webcam and your computer.
- Verify that the privacy shutter is open.
- Check your computer's privacy settings to ensure camera and microphone access is granted to applications.
- Confirm that "Poly Studio P5" is selected as the camera and microphone in your video conferencing application's settings.
- Poor Video Quality:
- Ensure adequate lighting in your environment. The webcam has automatic low-light compensation, but sufficient ambient light is always best.

- Update the webcam's firmware using the Poly Lens Desktop App.
- Microphone Issues:
