Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and ensure all components and accessories are present.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the water tank, portafilter, filter baskets, and drip tray with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
  3. Positioning: Place the espresso machine on a stable, level, and heat-resistant surface, away from walls to allow for proper ventilation.
  4. Fill Water Tank: Remove the transparent 1.8 L water tank from the back of the machine. Fill it with fresh, cold water up to the MAX mark. Replace the tank securely.
  5. First Use Cycle (Priming):
    • Ensure the water tank is filled.
    • Place a large cup or container under the portafilter and steam nozzle.
    • Plug the machine into a grounded power outlet.
    • Turn on the machine. The indicator lights will illuminate.
    • Once the machine is heated (analog gauge indicates readiness), run water through the portafilter without coffee until water flows smoothly.
    • Open the steam knob to release steam for a few seconds to prime the steam system, then close it.
This process removes air from the system and cleans internal components.

Operating Instructions

1. Making Espresso

  1. Pre-heat Cups: Place your espresso cups on the cup pre-heating tray on top of the machine. This helps maintain coffee temperature.
  2. Fill Portafilter: Select the appropriate filter basket (1-cup or 2-cup) and place it into the portafilter. Add finely ground espresso coffee using the measuring spoon.
  3. Tamp Coffee: Use the tamper to press the coffee grounds firmly and evenly into the filter basket. Ensure the surface is level.
  4. Attach Portafilter: Insert the portafilter into the brewing head of the machine. Turn it firmly to the right until it is securely locked in place.

  6. Brew Espresso: Once the machine is heated and the analog gauge indicates readiness, press the espresso brewing button. The machine will start extracting espresso.
  7. Stop Brewing: Press the espresso brewing button again to stop the flow when the desired amount of espresso is reached.
  8. Remove Portafilter: Carefully turn the portafilter to the left to unlock and remove it. Discard the used coffee grounds.

2. Frothing Milk

The swiveling stainless steel steam nozzle allows you to create frothed milk for cappuccinos and lattes.

  1. Prepare Milk: Fill a stainless steel frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) to about one-third full.
  2. Heat Machine for Steam: Ensure the machine is powered on and the steam function is activated (usually indicated by a specific light or gauge reading). Wait for the machine to reach optimal steam temperature.
  3. Purge Steam Wand: Briefly open the steam knob to release any condensed water from the nozzle into the drip tray, then close it.
  4. Froth Milk: Immerse the steam nozzle tip just below the surface of the milk. Open the steam knob to release steam. Move the pitcher up and down slightly to create foam. For latte art, aim for a creamy, velvety texture.
