Operating Instructions
1. Making Espresso
- Pre-heat Cups: Place your espresso cups on the cup pre-heating tray on top of the machine. This helps maintain coffee temperature.
- Fill Portafilter: Select the appropriate filter basket (1-cup or 2-cup) and place it into the portafilter. Add finely ground espresso coffee using the measuring spoon.
- Tamp Coffee: Use the tamper to press the coffee grounds firmly and evenly into the filter basket. Ensure the surface is level.
- Attach Portafilter: Insert the portafilter into the brewing head of the machine. Turn it firmly to the right until it is securely locked in place.

- Place Cups: Position one or two pre-heated espresso cups under the portafilter spouts.
- Brew Espresso: Once the machine is heated and the analog gauge indicates readiness, press the espresso brewing button. The machine will start extracting espresso.
- Stop Brewing: Press the espresso brewing button again to stop the flow when the desired amount of espresso is reached.
- Remove Portafilter: Carefully turn the portafilter to the left to unlock and remove it. Discard the used coffee grounds.
2. Frothing Milk
The swiveling stainless steel steam nozzle allows you to create frothed milk for cappuccinos and lattes.
- Prepare Milk: Fill a stainless steel frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) to about one-third full.
- Heat Machine for Steam: Ensure the machine is powered on and the steam function is activated (usually indicated by a specific light or gauge reading). Wait for the machine to reach optimal steam temperature.
- Purge Steam Wand: Briefly open the steam knob to release any condensed water from the nozzle into the drip tray, then close it.
- Froth Milk: Immerse the steam nozzle tip just below the surface of the milk. Open the steam knob to release steam. Move the pitcher up and down slightly to create foam. For latte art, aim for a creamy, velvety texture.

- Stop Steaming: Once the milk reaches the desired temperature and texture, close the steam knob.
- Clean Steam Wand: Immediately wipe the steam nozzle with a damp cloth to remove any milk residue. Briefly open the steam knob again to clear any milk from inside the nozzle.
3. Cup Pre-heating
The top of the machine features a stainless steel surface designed to gently warm your espresso cups, ensuring your coffee stays hot longer.

Simply place your cups on this tray while the machine is on. The residual heat from the boiler will warm them.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your espresso machine.
Daily Cleaning:
- Drip Tray: Empty and clean the stainless steel drip tray and drainer after each use or when the indicator shows it's full. Wash with warm soapy water and rinse.
- Portafilter and Filter Baskets: After each use, remove the portafilter, discard coffee grounds, and rinse the portafilter and filter basket under running water.
- Steam Nozzle: Always wipe the steam nozzle immediately after frothing milk. For thorough cleaning, the steam nozzle tip is removable. Unscrew it, clean any milk residue, and rinse. Reattach securely.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
Descaling:
Depending on water hardness and frequency of use, descaling should be performed every 2-3 months. Use a commercially available descaling solution suitable for espresso machines and follow the manufacturer's instructions. Always rinse the machine thoroughly with several cycles of fresh water after descaling.
Troubleshooting
Refer to the table below for common issues and their solutions.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No coffee flow or very slow flow | Coffee grounds too fine or tamped too hard; machine needs descaling; water tank empty. | Use coarser grind or less pressure when tamping; descale the machine; refill water tank. |
| Coffee is watery or weak | Coffee grounds too coarse or not enough coffee; brewing too fast. | Use finer grind or more coffee; ensure proper tamping. |
| No steam or weak steam | Steam nozzle clogged; machine not hot enough for steam; water tank empty. | Clean steam nozzle; wait for machine to heat up; refill water tank. |
| Water leaking from machine | Water tank not properly seated; drip tray full; seals worn. | Ensure water tank is correctly inserted; empty drip tray; contact customer support if seals are worn. |
