Installation and Setup

Installation of the GEKRONE Fingerprint Door Lock is designed to be straightforward and can be completed with basic tools, typically a screwdriver. No specialized power tools are required.

1. Prepare Your Door

Ensure your door's thickness is between 1.38 inches (35mm) and 2.17 inches (54mm). The adjustable latch supports backsets from 2-3/8 inches (60mm) to 2-1/8 inches (70mm).

2. Determine Door Handing

The door handle is adjustable for both left and right-handed doors. Follow the instructions in the mounting kit to correctly orient the handle before final installation.

3. Install Batteries

The lock requires 4 AAA 1.5V alkaline batteries (not included). Ensure to use only alkaline batteries for optimal performance and longevity. Insert them into the battery compartment as indicated.

4. Follow Mounting Kit Instructions

Refer to the detailed instructions provided in the mounting kit for step-by-step assembly and attachment of the lock tongue, handles, and main lock body to your door.

Operating Instructions

1. Fingerprint Enrollment

To enroll fingerprints, locate the password setting button (refer to Figure 4). Follow the specific sequence of presses and fingerprint scans as detailed in the mounting kit instructions. The blue light on the lock must be continuously on during the fingerprint enrollment process for successful registration.

2. Unlocking with Fingerprint

Place your registered finger on the fingerprint sensor. The lock will unlock in approximately 0.3 seconds. The lock will automatically re-lock after 5 seconds for security.

3. Normally Open / Locked Mode

The lock supports two operational modes:

4. Mechanical Key Unlock

In case of battery depletion or other emergencies, the lock can be opened using the provided mechanical keys. Insert the key into the keyhole and turn to unlock.

5. Emergency USB Power

If the batteries are completely dead, you can temporarily power the lock using a Micro-USB cable connected to the emergency USB port (refer to Figure 3 and Figure 4). This will allow you to unlock the door using a registered fingerprint or mechanical key. This port is for emergency power only and does not charge the internal batteries.

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your GEKRONE Fingerprint Door Lock, consider the following maintenance tips:

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your GEKRONE Fingerprint Door Lock, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

Lock does not respond or power on.
  • Check if batteries are correctly installed and are 1.5V AAA alkaline type.
  • Batteries may be depleted. Use the emergency USB port to temporarily power the lock and then replace batteries.
Red light flashes.This indicates low battery. Replace all 4 AAA alkaline batteries immediately.
Fingerprint not recognized.
  • Ensure your finger is clean and dry.
  • Ensure your finger is placed correctly on the sensor.
  • Re-enroll your fingerprint if recognition issues persist. Remember, successful enrollment requires the blue light to be continuously on.
  • Try using a different registered finger.
Lock mechanism does not release after successful fingerprint scan.
  • Check for any physical obstructions around the lock tongue or handles.
  • Ensure the lock is not in "Normally Open" mode if you expect it to be locked.
  • If the issue persists, use the mechanical key for access and contact customer support.
Cannot switch between Normally Open / Locked modes.Refer to the specific instructions in your mounting kit for the correct procedure to toggle between these modes using the dedicated button.
