Installation and Setup
Installation of the GEKRONE Fingerprint Door Lock is designed to be straightforward and can be completed with basic tools, typically a screwdriver. No specialized power tools are required.
1. Prepare Your Door
Ensure your door's thickness is between 1.38 inches (35mm) and 2.17 inches (54mm). The adjustable latch supports backsets from 2-3/8 inches (60mm) to 2-1/8 inches (70mm).

Figure 1: Door Lock Dimensions and Latch Adjustment. This image illustrates the various measurements of the lock components, including the adjustable latch (60mm or 70mm) and the compatible door thickness range (35-54mm).
2. Determine Door Handing
The door handle is adjustable for both left and right-handed doors. Follow the instructions in the mounting kit to correctly orient the handle before final installation.

Figure 2: Door Handle Handing Adjustment. This diagram shows how to adjust the set screw to change the handle's orientation for either left-opening or right-opening doors.
3. Install Batteries
The lock requires 4 AAA 1.5V alkaline batteries (not included). Ensure to use only alkaline batteries for optimal performance and longevity. Insert them into the battery compartment as indicated.

4. Follow Mounting Kit Instructions
Refer to the detailed instructions provided in the mounting kit for step-by-step assembly and attachment of the lock tongue, handles, and main lock body to your door.

Operating Instructions
1. Fingerprint Enrollment
To enroll fingerprints, locate the password setting button (refer to Figure 4). Follow the specific sequence of presses and fingerprint scans as detailed in the mounting kit instructions. The blue light on the lock must be continuously on during the fingerprint enrollment process for successful registration.

Figure 5: Fingerprint Interaction and Security. This image shows a finger touching the fingerprint sensor, with a blue light indicating readiness. It also emphasizes the strong and secure nature of the lock.
2. Unlocking with Fingerprint
Place your registered finger on the fingerprint sensor. The lock will unlock in approximately 0.3 seconds. The lock will automatically re-lock after 5 seconds for security.
3. Normally Open / Locked Mode
The lock supports two operational modes:
- Normally Open Mode: In this mode, the door can be unlocked by anyone without fingerprint verification. This is suitable for situations where frequent access is needed without security restrictions.
- Locked Mode: In this mode, only registered fingerprints can unlock the door, providing enhanced security.
Refer to the mounting kit instructions for how to switch between these modes using the normally open/locked push button (refer to Figure 4).
4. Mechanical Key Unlock
In case of battery depletion or other emergencies, the lock can be opened using the provided mechanical keys. Insert the key into the keyhole and turn to unlock.
5. Emergency USB Power
If the batteries are completely dead, you can temporarily power the lock using a Micro-USB cable connected to the emergency USB port (refer to Figure 3 and Figure 4). This will allow you to unlock the door using a registered fingerprint or mechanical key. This port is for emergency power only and does not charge the internal batteries.
Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your GEKRONE Fingerprint Door Lock, consider the following maintenance tips:
- Battery Replacement: Replace the 4 AAA alkaline batteries when the low battery indicator (red light) flashes. Do not mix old and new batteries, and always use alkaline batteries.
- Cleaning: Wipe the lock's surface and fingerprint sensor with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.
- Environmental Conditions: While the lock is designed for a wide temperature range (-20℃ to 65℃), avoid exposing it to extreme moisture or direct water spray.
- Mechanical Parts: Periodically check the lock tongue and handles for any obstructions or signs of wear. Ensure smooth operation.

If you encounter issues with your GEKRONE Fingerprint Door Lock, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
