Setup

Before first use, ensure all packaging materials are removed. Place the machine on a stable, flat surface. Fill the water tank and bean hopper as described below.

Filling the Water Tank

The water tank is located on the side of the machine for easy access. Pull it out, fill with fresh water, and slide it back into place until it clicks securely.

Adding Coffee Beans and Adjusting Grinder

Open the lid on top of the machine to access the bean hopper. Pour fresh coffee beans into the hopper. The integrated conical burr grinder has 13 adjustable settings. Use the grinder adjustment dial located inside the bean hopper to select your desired grind fineness. A finer grind is suitable for espresso, while a coarser grind is better for drip coffee.

For decaffeinated coffee, use the pre-ground coffee bypass. Open the small compartment next to the bean hopper and add one scoop of pre-ground coffee.

Operating Instructions

The Dinamica Plus features an intuitive 3.5” TFT full-touch, colorful display for easy operation.

Powering On/Off

Press the power button on the top of the machine to turn it on. The machine will perform an automatic rinse cycle upon startup and shutdown to ensure cleanliness. Wait for the "Heating Up Underway" message to clear before selecting a drink.

Selecting and Customizing Beverages

The display offers 16 barista-style beverages, including Coffee, Hot Water, Hot Milk, Cappuccino, Latte Macchiato, Over Ice, Espresso, Long, Doppio+, Cappuccino Mix, Latte, Flat White, Espresso Macchiato, and Coffee Pot. Use the arrow buttons to navigate through the drink options.

You can customize drink size and coffee intensity (from extra light to extra strong). The Smart-One-Touch System learns your preferences and displays your most frequently selected drinks first.

Using the LatteCrema System

Attach the thermal milk carafe to the machine. The LatteCrema System automatically froths milk to your desired consistency. It can be used with regular milk or milk alternatives. The carafe can be stored in the fridge to keep milk fresh.

Coffee Link App Functionality

The De'Longhi Coffee Link App allows you to create and save up to 3 personalized espresso recipes in your profile. The app also provides tips and tricks for machine maintenance.

Cleaning the Drip Tray and Grounds Container

The drip tray collects excess fluids and can be easily removed and poured out. The internal tray holds used coffee grounds. The machine will automatically alert you on the screen when it's time to empty the grounds container.

Milk Frother and Brew Unit Cleaning

The thermal milk carafe and drip tray are dishwasher-safe for easy cleaning. The brew unit is removable for thorough cleaning.

Descaling and Water Filter

The machine has menu options for descaling and water filter management. Follow the on-screen prompts for these maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and longevity of your machine.

Troubleshooting

Here are some common issues and their potential solutions:

• Weak Coffee: If your coffee tastes weak, ensure the water tank is sufficiently filled. Check the grind setting and adjust to a finer grind for stronger coffee. Also, verify the coffee intensity setting on the display.
• "Insert Water Tank" or "Fill Tank" Message: This indicates the water tank is either empty or not correctly inserted. Remove the tank, fill it with fresh water, and reinsert it firmly until it clicks into place.
• "Insert Grounds Container" Message: The used coffee grounds container is full. Remove the drip tray and the grounds container, empty it, clean if necessary, and reinsert both components.
• Milk Not Frothing Properly: Ensure the milk carafe is clean and correctly assembled. Use fresh, cold milk. For best results, skim milk is often recommended for optimal froth, though the LatteCrema System is designed to work with various milk types.
