1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the EPOMAKER SK64S mechanical keyboard. The SK64S is a 60% layout hot-swappable keyboard featuring Bluetooth 5.1 wireless and wired connectivity, RGB backlighting, and PBT keycaps. It is designed for compatibility with both Windows and Mac operating systems.

2. Package Contents

3. Setup and Connection
3.1 Wired Connection
- Connect the USB Type-C end of the provided cable to the port on the keyboard.
- Connect the USB-A end of the cable to an available USB port on your computer.
- The keyboard will be automatically recognized by your operating system.
3.2 Bluetooth Wireless Connection
The SK64S supports Bluetooth 5.1 for wireless connectivity. Ensure the keyboard is charged or connected via USB for initial setup if the battery is low.
- Turn on the Bluetooth switch on the underside of the keyboard (if available, otherwise assume key combination).
- Press FN + Z, FN + X, or FN + C to select one of the three available Bluetooth channels. The corresponding key's backlight will flash, indicating pairing mode.
- On your computer or device, navigate to Bluetooth settings and search for new devices.
- Select "SK64S" from the list of available devices to pair.
- Once paired, the key's backlight will stop flashing and remain steadily lit.
To switch between paired Bluetooth devices, press FN + Z, FN + X, or FN + C for the desired channel.
3.3 Charging the Keyboard
Connect the keyboard to a USB port on your computer or a USB wall adapter using the provided Type-C cable. The keyboard's RGB lighting may indicate charging status (e.g., a specific color or animation). A full charge provides approximately 1900mAh of battery life.
4. Operation
4.1 Basic Key Functions
The SK64S features a 60% layout with dedicated arrow keys. Many functions are accessed via the FN key combination.

4.2 RGB Backlighting
The keyboard features 16 million color RGB backlighting. Use the following key combinations to control the lighting:
- FN + \ |: Cycle through lighting effects.
- FN + [ {: Decrease backlight brightness.
- FN + ] }: Increase backlight brightness.
- FN + ; :: Decrease lighting effect speed.
- FN + ' ": Increase lighting effect speed.
- FN + . >: Cycle through backlight colors (static modes).
- FN + / ?: Toggle music rhythm mode (if supported by current firmware).
Advanced customization of RGB lighting can be performed using the dedicated software (refer to the EPOMAKER website for software download).
4.3 Programmable Modes
The SK64S supports three programmable layers, allowing for extensive key remapping and macro creation. These configurations are stored on the keyboard's onboard FLASH memory.
- User Defined Mode (Layer 1):
- Press FN + W. The 'W' key's white light will illuminate, indicating entry into Layer 1 for customization.
- Use the dedicated software to program keys in this layer.
- Press FN + W again to exit Layer 1 and return to the normal keyboard layout.
- Mac OS Mode (Layer 2):
- Press FN + E. The 'E' key's white light will illuminate, activating the Mac OS keyboard layout.
- This mode optimizes key functions for macOS environments.
- Press FN + E again to exit Mac OS Mode and return to the normal keyboard layout.

- FNX Adjustable Function Define Mode (Layer 3):
- Press FN + R. The 'R' key's white light will illuminate, indicating entry into Layer 3 for advanced function definition.
- This layer allows for further customization of key functions.
- Press FN + R again to exit Layer 3 and return to the normal keyboard layout.

4.4 N-Key Rollover (NKRO) and Anti-Ghosting
The SK64S supports N-Key Rollover and anti-ghosting, ensuring that every key press is registered accurately, even when multiple keys are pressed simultaneously. This feature is active in both wired and wireless modes.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning the Keyboard
To clean your keyboard:
- Disconnect the keyboard from your computer.
- Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust and debris from between the keycaps.
- For stubborn dirt, gently wipe the keycaps with a damp cloth and mild soap solution. Ensure no liquid enters the keyboard.
- The mainboard features an IP6X dustproof design, reducing concerns about internal dust accumulation.
5.2 Hot-Swappable Switches
The SK64S is equipped with Gateron Optical Switches, which are hot-swappable. This allows you to replace switches without soldering.
- Using the provided keycap puller, carefully remove the desired keycap.
- Using the provided switch puller, gently grip the top and bottom clips of the switch and pull upwards to remove it.
- Align the pins of the new Gateron Optical Switch with the holes on the PCB.
- Press the new switch firmly into place until it clicks. Ensure it is seated correctly and functions properly before replacing the keycap.
Note: Only Gateron Optical Switches are compatible with the hot-swappable sockets on this keyboard.
5.3 PBT Keycaps
The SK64S features PBT thermal sublimation keycaps, known for their durability, high abrasive resistance, and oil-proof properties. This ensures the legends will not fade over time with regular use.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your EPOMAKER SK64S keyboard, refer to the following common solutions:
