Operating Instructions
Pre-Flight Checklist:
- Ensure a 4+ channel radio system is properly bound and configured.
- Verify the LiPo battery is fully charged and securely installed.
- Check the Center of Gravity (CG) at 3.7 inches (95mm) from the leading edge at the fuselage.
- Confirm all control surfaces (ailerons, elevator, rudder) move freely and in the correct direction.
- Inspect the propeller (11 x 5.5) for any damage and ensure it is securely fastened.
Flight Performance:
The F3A Explorer is designed for precision aerobatic flying. Its high output 3536-Kv1150 brushless motor and included speed control provide excellent power. Approximate flight time is 5 minutes, depending on flying style and battery capacity.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and performance of your FMS F3A Explorer. After each flight, inspect the aircraft for any damage to the EPO foam, control surfaces, landing gear, and propeller. Ensure all screws and connections are secure. Keep the motor and electronics free from dirt and debris. Store the aircraft in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Troubleshooting
Common Issues and Solutions:
- Aircraft not responding to controls: Check transmitter battery, receiver connection, and servo functionality. Re-bind if necessary.
- Poor flight performance: Verify CG is correct, check control surface throws, and ensure propeller is undamaged and balanced.
- Motor not spinning: Check battery connection, ESC connection to receiver and motor, and ensure the ESC is armed correctly.
- Unusual vibrations: Inspect propeller for damage or imbalance, check motor mount for looseness.
For persistent issues, consult the FMS support resources or contact your retailer.
