3. Physical Interface

3.1 Front Panel

• LED Indicators: ACT, WAN2, USB1, DMZ, WAN1, USB2, QoS, VPN, WCF. These LEDs provide status information for various functions.

4. Initial Setup

4.1 Physical Connection

1. Power Connection: Connect the supplied power adapter to the PWR port on the rear panel of the Vigor 2927 and then plug it into a power outlet. Turn on the router using the ON/OFF switch.

   • For your primary internet connection, connect an Ethernet cable from your ISP modem (e.g., cable modem, fiber ONT) to the WAN1 port on the Vigor 2927.

3. In the address bar, type the default IP address: 192.168.1.1 and press Enter.

4.3 Basic WAN Configuration

After logging in, navigate to WAN > General Setup to configure your internet connection(s).

• Select the appropriate WAN interface (e.g., WAN1).
• Choose the correct protocol (e.g., DHCP, Static IP, PPPoE) as provided by your ISP.
• Enter any required details such as IP address, subnet mask, gateway, DNS servers, or PPPoE username/password.

5.1 Dual-WAN Configuration

To configure Dual-WAN for load balancing or failover, navigate to WAN > General Setup and WAN > Load Balance/Route Policy.

• Load Balance: Distributes internet traffic across multiple WAN connections to increase overall bandwidth.
• Failover: Automatically switches to a secondary WAN connection if the primary connection fails, ensuring continuous internet access.

5.2 VPN Setup

• VPN Connection Fails:
  • Check VPN server/client configuration settings for correctness (IP addresses, shared secret, usernames/passwords).
