Setup

1. Attaching/Changing Lock Tips

The lock comes with three interchangeable tips to fit different security slots. Select the appropriate tip for your device.

1. Identify the security slot type on your laptop (Standard, Nano, or Wedge).
2. To attach a tip, align the chosen tip with the lock head and push it firmly into place until it clicks.
3. To change a tip, gently pull the currently attached tip out of the lock head.

2. Setting the Combination

The lock is factory preset to 0-0-0-0. Follow these steps to set your personal combination:

1. Ensure the lock is open (set to 0-0-0-0 and the button is pressed).
2. Locate the reset button on the side or bottom of the lock. Use a small, pointed object (like a pen tip) to press and hold the reset button.
3. While holding the reset button, rotate the dials to your desired 4-digit combination.
4. Release the reset button. Your new combination is now set.
5. Important: Write down your combination and store it in a safe place. Kensington's Register & Retrieve service can assist if you forget your code.

Operating the Lock

1. Ensure the correct lock tip is attached to the lock head.
2. Enter your personal 4-digit combination on the dials.
3. Press the release button on the lock head to extend the locking mechanism.
4. Insert the extended locking mechanism into your device's security slot.
5. Release the button. The lock should now be securely fastened to your device.
6. Scramble the dials to lock the combination and prevent unauthorized access.

1. Align the dials to your personal 4-digit combination.
