Connect the 4-pin flat connector to your vehicle's existing trailer wiring harness. If your vehicle does not have a 4-pin connector, you will need to hardwire the connections according to the diagram below.

Wiring instructions for 4-pin connector

  • Green Wire: Connect to Right Turn Signal / Brake Light.
  • Yellow Wire: Connect to Left Turn Signal / Brake Light.
  • Brown Wire: Connect to Running Lights (70% Brightness).
  • White Wire: Connect to Ground.

Ensure all connections are secure and protected from the elements. Reconnect the vehicle battery once wiring is complete.

6. Operating Instructions

The LED tailgate light strip offers multiple lighting functions for enhanced visibility and safety.

6.1 Lighting Functions

  • Running Lights: All red LEDs illuminate at 70% brightness when headlights are on.
  • Brake Light: All red LEDs illuminate at full brightness with an exclusive strobe (flashing) effect when the brake pedal is pressed.
  • Left Turn Signal: Sequential amber LEDs illuminate from the center to the left.
  • Right Turn Signal: Sequential amber LEDs illuminate from the center to the right.
  • Double Flashing (Hazard Lights): All amber LEDs flash simultaneously.

6.2 Steering Priority Function

The light strip incorporates a steering priority function:

  • If a turn signal or double flashing light is active, the brake light function will be temporarily overridden.
  • To activate the brake light normally, the turn signal or double flashing light must be deactivated first.
  • When braking while a turn signal is active, the turn signal will temporarily stop, and the light bar will display the strobe flashing red brake light. Once the brake is released, the turn signal (yellow) will resume.

  • Cleaning: Clean the light strip periodically with a soft cloth and mild soap solution. Avoid abrasive cleaners or high-pressure washers directly on the strip.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect the wiring and connections for any signs of wear, corrosion, or damage. Ensure the adhesive remains secure.
  • Waterproof Design: The light strip features an IP67 waterproof rating, making it resistant to snow, dust, and sand. However, avoid prolonged submersion.
