3. Setup and Installation

This kit is designed for DIY modification and replacement. Installation requires basic electrical knowledge and careful attention to wiring. Ensure the ride-on car is disconnected from any power source before beginning installation.

Installation Steps:

  1. Preparation: Disconnect the existing battery and remove the old wiring harness and components from the ride-on car.
  2. Connect Motors: Connect the new drive motors to the appropriate connectors on the provided wiring harness. Ensure secure connections.
  3. Install Control Box: Mount the RX30 Control Box securely within the vehicle's chassis. Connect the main power wires and motor wires to the control box as indicated by the wiring diagram (not included in this manual, refer to product packaging or online resources if available).
  4. Connect Switches and Pedal: Connect the power switch, accelerator pedal, and any other auxiliary switches (e.g., high/low speed, shifter) to the corresponding ports on the wiring harness.
  5. Overload Protector: Integrate the overload protector into the main power circuit as specified. This is crucial for safety.
  6. Battery Connection: Once all components are connected, connect your 24V battery (not included) to the main power input of the harness. Double-check all connections for polarity and security before powering on.
  7. Test Functionality: Before reassembling the car, perform a preliminary test of all functions (power, forward/reverse, speed settings, remote control).

Note: While designed for ease of installation, some modifications may require additional tools or expertise, such as soldering for more secure connections, as noted by some users. Ensure all connections are robust to prevent disconnections during operation.

4. Operating Instructions

After successful installation, operate the ride-on car using the integrated controls or the 2.4G Bluetooth remote control.

4.1. Powering On/Off

  • Press the main power switch on the vehicle to turn it on. An indicator light may illuminate.
  • To turn off, press the main power switch again.

4.2. Using the Accelerator Pedal

  • Once powered on, press the accelerator pedal to move the vehicle forward.
  • Release the pedal to stop the vehicle.

4.3. Remote Control Operation

The 2.4G Bluetooth remote control allows parents to control the vehicle's movement and speed.

  • Pairing: Refer to the remote control's specific instructions for pairing with the RX30 Control Box. Typically involves holding a button on the remote while turning on the vehicle.
  • Directional Control: Use the directional buttons (forward, backward, left, right) to steer the vehicle.
  • Speed Adjustment: The remote control features high-low speed adjustment. Use the designated speed button to toggle between speed modes.
  • Emergency Stop: The remote control usually has an emergency stop button (often labeled 'P' or 'Stop') that immediately halts the vehicle.

4.4. Shifter/Gearbox Control

  • If your setup includes a physical shifter, use it to select forward, neutral, or reverse gears.
  • Ensure the vehicle is stationary before changing gears to prevent damage to the gearbox.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your modified ride-on car.

  • Battery Care: Always use a compatible 24V battery. Charge the battery fully after each use and before long-term storage. Do not overcharge or completely drain the battery.
  • Wiring Inspection: Periodically inspect all wiring connections for looseness, corrosion, or damage. Secure any loose connections and replace damaged wires immediately.
  • Motor Check: Listen for unusual noises from the motors during operation. If motors are overheating or making excessive noise, discontinue use and inspect for issues.
  • Cleanliness: Keep the control box and electrical components free from dirt, dust, and moisture. Use a dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Overload Protector: If the overload protector trips frequently, it may indicate an underlying issue (e.g., motor strain, short circuit). Investigate the cause rather than bypassing the protector.
