Setup and Adjustment
Proper adjustment of your Ortovox Trad 30L Dry Backpack is crucial for comfort and stability, especially during long treks or climbs.
- Load Distribution: Pack heavier items closer to your back and centered, lighter items towards the top and bottom.
- Shoulder Straps: Loosen all straps. Put on the backpack. Tighten shoulder straps until the pack sits comfortably on your shoulders, but not too tightly.
- Waist Belt: Position the waist belt over your hip bones. Cinch it securely to transfer most of the pack's weight to your hips. The waist belt is packable if not needed.
- Sternum Strap: Fasten the sternum strap across your chest and adjust its height and tension for comfort. This helps stabilize the shoulder straps.
- Load Lifter Straps: These straps connect the top of the shoulder straps to the top of the pack. Tighten them slightly to pull the top of the pack closer to your body, preventing it from leaning back.

Maintenance and Care

- Drying: Air dry the backpack completely in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Ensure the interior is dry to prevent mildew.
- Storage: Store the backpack in a cool, dry place. Avoid compressing it for long periods.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect seams, buckles, and straps for signs of wear or damage. Repair minor issues promptly to prevent further deterioration.
Troubleshooting
- Contents getting wet: Ensure the roll-top closure is rolled down at least three times and the buckles are securely fastened. Check for any punctures or tears in the fabric.
- Discomfort during wear: Re-adjust all straps (shoulder, waist, sternum, load lifters) to ensure proper load distribution. Ensure the pack is not overloaded beyond its intended capacity.
