1. Introduction

The Zebronics Zeb-Smart Bot is a versatile 5W Wi-Fi smart speaker designed to enhance your home automation experience. Featuring an integrated IR Blaster and Alexa Built-in, this device allows for seamless voice control of smart home devices, playback of music, and management of traditional IR-controlled appliances such as televisions and air conditioners. Compatible with both iOS and Android smartphones via the dedicated Zeb Home App, the Zeb-Smart Bot offers a comprehensive and convenient smart home solution.

4. Setup Guide

4.1. Powering On

Connect the provided USB cable to the Micro USB port on the Zeb-Smart Bot. Plug the other end of the cable into a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a powered USB port. The device will power on automatically.

4.2. Connecting to Wi-Fi

1. Download the "Zeb Home" app from the App Store (for iOS devices) or Google Play Store (for Android devices).
2. Open the Zeb Home app and follow the on-screen instructions to add your Zeb-Smart Bot.
3. Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. The Zeb-Smart Bot supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only.
4. The app will guide you through the process of connecting the speaker to your home Wi-Fi network.

4.3. Pairing Bluetooth Devices

1. To initiate Bluetooth pairing, say "Alexa, pair Bluetooth" or use the Zeb Home app to put the device into Bluetooth pairing mode.
2. On your smartphone or other Bluetooth-enabled device, search for available devices and select "ZEB-SMART BOT" from the list.
3. Once successfully paired, you can stream audio from your device to the Zeb-Smart Bot. The device supports Bluetooth v4.2.

4.4. Zeb Home App Setup

The Zeb Home app is crucial for the initial setup, managing Wi-Fi connections, and configuring the IR Blaster functions. It provides a comprehensive interface for controlling and customizing your smart speaker experience.

5. Operating Your Zeb-Smart Bot

5.1. Voice Commands with Alexa

The Zeb-Smart Bot has Alexa Built-in, allowing you to control it and other smart devices using your voice. Simply say "Alexa" followed by your command.

• Music Playback: "Alexa, play music," "Alexa, next song."
• Information: "Alexa, what's the weather?", "Alexa, what's the news?"
• Timers & Alarms: "Alexa, set a timer for 5 minutes," "Alexa, set an alarm for 7 AM."
• Smart Home Control: "Alexa, turn on the lights" (requires compatible smart home devices).

5.2. IR Blaster Functionality

The integrated IR Blaster allows you to control non-smart, infrared-controlled devices such as televisions and air conditioners using voice commands through Alexa.

1. Configure your IR devices within the Zeb Home app. This typically involves selecting the device type and brand, and then testing the commands.
2. Once configured, you can use voice commands like:
   • "Alexa, turn on the AC."
   • "Alexa, turn off the TV."
   • "Alexa, change TV channel to [channel number]."

5.3. Privacy Controls

For privacy, the Zeb-Smart Bot includes a dedicated microphone off button. Pressing this button electronically disconnects the microphones, ensuring that the device cannot listen for commands until reactivated.

6. Care and Maintenance

• Keep the device in a dry environment, away from direct sunlight, high humidity, and extreme temperatures.
• Clean the exterior of the Zeb-Smart Bot with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners, aerosols, or abrasive materials.
• Avoid blocking the speaker grille or microphone openings to ensure optimal performance.
• This device is not waterproof. Avoid exposure to water or other liquids.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1. Device Not Powering On

• Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the Zeb-Smart Bot and a working USB power adapter or port.
• Verify that the power source is active.

7.2. Cannot Connect to Wi-Fi

• Confirm that your Wi-Fi network operates on the 2.4 GHz frequency, as the Zeb-Smart Bot does not support 5 GHz networks.
• During setup, ensure your smartphone is connected to the same 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network you intend to connect the Zeb-Smart Bot to.
• Restart your Wi-Fi router and the Zeb-Smart Bot.
• Try resetting the device to factory settings (refer to the Zeb Home app or device instructions for the specific reset procedure).
• Ensure the Zeb Home app is updated to its latest version.

7.3. Alexa Not Responding or Understanding Commands

• Check that the microphone is not muted. The microphone off button should not be illuminated.
• Speak clearly and directly towards the device.
• Verify your internet connection is stable.
• Ensure Alexa is properly linked and configured within the Zeb Home app.

7.4. Bluetooth Connectivity Issues

• Ensure the Zeb-Smart Bot is in Bluetooth pairing mode.
• Check that Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone or other device.
• Move your smartphone closer to the Zeb-Smart Bot to reduce interference.
• Unpair and then re-pair the device from your smartphone's Bluetooth settings.

7.5. IR Blaster Not Controlling Devices

• Ensure the Zeb-Smart Bot has a clear line of sight to the IR-controlled device (e.g., TV, AC). Obstructions can block the infrared signal.
• Verify that the IR device is correctly configured and tested within the Zeb Home app.
• Check if the original remote control for the IR device is working correctly.
