6. Installation Instructions

Follow these steps carefully for a secure installation. The mount is designed for both flat wall and corner installations.

6.1. Attaching TV Brackets to TV

  1. Carefully place your TV face-down on a soft, clean surface to prevent scratches.
  2. Identify the mounting holes on the back of your TV.
  3. Select the appropriate screws, washers, and spacers from the hardware kit that fit your TV's mounting holes. Ensure the screws are long enough to engage securely but not so long that they damage internal components.
  4. Attach the two TV bracket arms to the back of your TV, aligning them with the VESA holes. Ensure the hooks on the bracket arms are facing upwards. Tighten securely, but do not overtighten.

6.2. Mounting the Wall Plate

The FORGING MOUNT HY9389-B-UK is designed with an offset wall plate and a long arm, making it suitable for corner installations as well as flat wall mounting.

6.2.1. For Wood Stud Walls

  1. Use a stud finder to locate the edges and center of two adjacent wood studs. Mark the center of the studs at the desired height for your TV.
  2. Place the wall plate against the wall, ensuring it is level, and mark the pilot hole locations.
  3. Drill pilot holes into the center of the marked studs. The drill bit size should be slightly smaller than the lag bolts.
  4. Attach the wall plate to the wall using the lag bolts and washers. Tighten firmly until the wall plate is secure. Do not overtighten.

6.2.2. For Solid Concrete or Brick Walls

  1. Determine the desired mounting height and position the wall plate. Use a level to ensure it is straight and mark the pilot hole locations.
  2. Drill pilot holes into the concrete or brick using a masonry drill bit. The drill bit size should match the diameter of the concrete anchors.
  3. Insert the concrete anchors into the drilled holes, ensuring they are flush with the wall surface.
  4. Attach the wall plate to the wall using the lag bolts and washers, screwing them into the concrete anchors. Tighten firmly until the wall plate is secure.

6.3. Hanging the TV on the Wall Plate

  1. With assistance, carefully lift the TV with the attached brackets.
  2. Hook the TV bracket arms onto the wall plate. Ensure both arms are securely seated on the wall plate.
  3. Engage the safety locking screws or mechanisms on the bottom of the TV bracket arms to prevent accidental dislodgement.

7. Operating and Adjustments

This full-motion mount offers a wide range of adjustments for optimal viewing.

7.1. Swivel Adjustment

The mount allows for a wide swivel range, up to 180 degrees, depending on TV size and wall position. Gently push or pull the TV to the desired angle. The long arm extends up to 765mm, providing significant reach for corner installations or viewing from different areas of a room.

Figure 7.2: Flexible Viewing Angles. This diagram highlights the various degrees of motion: +/-180° swivel, +/-360° rotation (though typically limited by TV size), and +/-180° tilt (likely referring to the arm's articulation, not screen tilt). These adjustments enable optimal positioning.

7.2. Tilt Adjustment

The TV can be tilted up to 15 degrees to reduce glare and achieve a comfortable viewing angle. Loosen the tilt adjustment knobs or bolts on the TV bracket arms, adjust the TV to the desired tilt, and then re-tighten the knobs/bolts to secure the position.

7.3. Leveling Adjustment

After installation, if the TV appears slightly unlevel, you can make minor adjustments. The mount allows for +/-3 degrees of post-installation leveling. Loosen the leveling screws on the TV bracket arms, adjust the TV to be perfectly level, and then re-tighten the screws.

8. Cable Management

The mount includes integrated cable management features to help organize and conceal cables. Route your TV and power cables along the arms of the mount using the provided cable clips or ties. This helps maintain a neat appearance and prevents cables from getting snagged during adjustments.

9. Maintenance

  • Periodically check all screws and connections to ensure they remain tight and secure.
  • Clean the mount with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Do not lubricate any parts of the mount unless specifically instructed by the manufacturer.
  • If any part becomes damaged or worn, discontinue use and contact customer support for replacement parts.

10. Troubleshooting

10.1. TV is not level after installation.

Use the post-installation leveling adjustment feature. Loosen the leveling screws, adjust the TV to be level, and re-tighten the screws (refer to Section 7.3).

10.2. Mount feels loose on the wall.

WARNING: Immediately remove the TV from the mount if it feels loose.

Re-check all wall plate mounting bolts and ensure they are securely tightened. Verify that the correct anchors and drill bit sizes were used for your wall type. If the issue persists, consult a professional installer.

10.3. TV cannot be adjusted (swivel/tilt).

Ensure that all adjustment knobs or bolts are sufficiently loosened before attempting to move the TV. If the TV is at the maximum extent of its movement range, further adjustment may not be possible.
