4.3 Drainage Options

Your LUKO dehumidifier offers two convenient drainage methods:

Two drainage methods: continuous drain hose and water reservoir

Figure 4.2: Two Optional Draining Methods

  1. Manual Drainage (Water Reservoir): The unit will collect water in the internal 51 oz water reservoir. When the reservoir is full, the unit will automatically shut off and the 'Full' indicator will illuminate. Empty the reservoir by pulling it out, discarding the water, and reinserting it.
  2. Continuous Drainage: For continuous operation without emptying the tank, attach the included 3.3 ft long drain pipe to the continuous drain outlet on the back of the unit. Ensure the hose is sloped downwards to allow gravity to drain the water to a suitable floor drain or sink.

5. Operating Instructions

The LUKO dehumidifier is designed for efficient and quiet operation, effectively reducing humidity levels from approximately 85% to 45% in areas up to 1600 sq ft.

5.1 Power On/Off

Press the Power button to turn the unit on or off.

5.2 Setting Desired Humidity

Use the Humidity Setting buttons (up/down arrows) to set your desired humidity level. The unit will operate until the ambient humidity reaches the set level, then it will cycle off. It will restart automatically when the humidity rises above the set point.

5.3 Fan Speed Adjustment

Press the Fan Speed button to switch between Low and High fan speeds. Higher fan speed results in faster dehumidification.

5.4 Timer Function

Press the Timer button to set an auto-on or auto-off time (1-24 hours). Each press increases the time by one hour. The unit will turn on or off after the set number of hours.

5.5 Auto Defrost

The unit features an automatic defrost function. If frost builds up on the evaporator coils, the compressor will temporarily turn off, and the fan will continue to run to melt the frost. The 'Defrost' indicator will illuminate during this process. Once defrosted, the unit will resume normal operation.

5.6 Quiet and Efficient Operation

The LUKO dehumidifier operates quietly, with noise levels typically around 40-45dB, comparable to a quiet refrigerator or a low hum. It is also designed for low energy consumption, using approximately 210W, which is less than many common household appliances.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance helps ensure optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your dehumidifier.

6.1 Emptying the Water Tank

When the water tank is full, the unit will stop operating and the 'Full' indicator will light up. Carefully pull out the water tank, empty the collected water, and slide the tank back into place until it clicks securely. The unit will then resume operation.

6.2 Cleaning the Air Filter

The dehumidifier is equipped with a washable air filter. A dirty filter can reduce efficiency and airflow. It is recommended to clean the filter every two weeks or more frequently depending on usage and air quality.

  1. Turn off the unit and unplug it from the power outlet.
  2. Remove the air filter from the back of the unit.
  3. Wash the filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  4. Allow the filter to air dry completely before reinserting it into the unit. Do not use a dryer or direct heat.

6.3 Cleaning the Unit Exterior

Wipe the exterior of the dehumidifier with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasives, or solvents, as these may damage the surface.

6.4 Storage

If storing the unit for an extended period, ensure the water tank is empty and clean, and the air filter is clean and dry. Coil the power cord neatly. Store the unit in an upright position in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
