1. Introduction

2. Important Safety Instructions

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following:

• The glass carafe is designed for use with this appliance only. It must never be used on a range top.
• Do not place a hot carafe on a wet or cold surface.
• Do not use a cracked carafe or a carafe having a loose or weakened handle.
• Do not clean carafe with cleansers, steel wool pads, or other abrasive material.

5. Setup and First Use

5.1 Unpacking

1. Carefully remove all packaging materials from the coffee maker.
2. Place the coffee maker on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface.
3. Ensure the power cord is not tangled and is positioned away from hot surfaces.

5.2 Initial Cleaning

Before first use, it is recommended to clean all removable parts and run a brewing cycle with only water to remove any manufacturing residues.

1. Wash the glass carafe, permanent filter, and filter basket in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
2. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
3. Fill the water tank with clean water up to the "12-cup" mark.
4. Place the permanent filter (without coffee grounds) into the filter basket, and then place the filter basket into its position.
5. Place the empty glass carafe on the warming plate.
6. Plug the coffee maker into a standard electrical outlet.
7. Press the power button to start a brewing cycle with only water.
8. Once the cycle is complete, discard the water from the carafe.
9. Repeat this process once more for thorough cleaning.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Brewing Coffee

1. Fill Water Tank: Open the lid of the water tank and fill it with fresh, cold water using the glass carafe. Refer to the water level indicator on the side of the machine. Do not exceed the "MAX" line.
2. Add Coffee Grounds: Place the permanent filter into the filter basket. Add your desired amount of ground coffee into the filter. A general guideline is one level magnetic spoon (approx. 7g) of coffee grounds per cup (150ml) of water, but adjust to your taste.
3. Position Carafe: Ensure the glass carafe is correctly placed on the warming plate.
4. Start Brewing: Plug in the coffee maker. The LCD screen will light up. Press the power button to start the brewing process. The indicator light will illuminate.
5. Brewing Complete: Once the brewing cycle is finished, the coffee maker will automatically switch to the "keep warm" mode for 30 minutes. The indicator light will remain on.
6. Serve: Carefully remove the carafe from the warming plate and pour your coffee.

6.2 Using the 24-Hour Programmable Timer

The programmable timer allows you to set the coffee maker to start brewing at a specific time within a 24-hour period.

1. Set Current Time: When the coffee maker is plugged in and in standby mode, press the "PROG" button. Use the "+" and "-" buttons to set the current hour, then press "PROG" again to set the minutes. Press "PROG" once more to confirm.
2. Set Auto-Brew Time: After setting the current time, press the "TIMER" button. The display will show "00:00". Use the "+" and "-" buttons to set your desired brew time (e.g., 7:00 AM). Press "TIMER" again to confirm.
3. Prepare for Brewing: Follow steps 1 and 2 from "6.1 Brewing Coffee" (fill water, add coffee grounds).
4. Activate Timer: Press the "TIMER" button once more. A small clock icon will appear on the LCD screen, indicating that the timer is activated.
5. The coffee maker will automatically start brewing at the set time.

6.3 Adjusting Coffee Strength

7. Maintenance and Cleaning

7.2 Descaling (Every 2-4 Months or as Needed)

Mineral deposits from water can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting performance and taste. Descaling is recommended every 2-4 months, or more frequently if you have hard water.

1. Prepare a descaling solution: Mix 1 part white vinegar with 2 parts water. For example, 1 cup of vinegar with 2 cups of water.
2. Pour the solution into the water tank.
3. Place the empty glass carafe on the warming plate.
4. Start a brewing cycle without coffee grounds.
5. After about half of the solution has brewed through, turn off the coffee maker and let it sit for 15-20 minutes to allow the solution to work.
6. Turn the coffee maker back on to complete the brewing cycle.
7. Discard the descaling solution from the carafe.
8. Run 2-3 full cycles with fresh, clean water to rinse out any remaining vinegar taste or odor.
