4. Setup and Installation

4.1. Physical Installation

The valve timer is designed for easy user installation, typically within two minutes, without requiring professional assistance. It is suitable for pipe sizes ranging from 1/2 inch to 1-1/2 inch (approximately 14 - 44 mm).

4.2. App and Network Connection

The Chatthen Smart Valve Timer connects to your home WiFi network (2.4GHz only, 5GHz is not supported) via the Smart Life app.

  1. Download App: Download the "Smart Life" app from your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android).
  2. Register/Log In: Open the app and register for a new account or log in if you already have one.
  3. Add Device: Follow the in-app instructions to add a new device. Select the appropriate device type (e.g., "Valve Controller" or "Water Valve").
  4. Connect to WiFi: Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi network. Enter your WiFi password when prompted by the app.
  5. Pairing Mode: The device will enter pairing mode (usually indicated by a blinking light). Confirm this in the app.
  6. Completion: Once connected, you can rename the device and begin controlling it through the app.

5.1. Remote Control via Smart Life App

Once the device is connected to your Smart Life app, you can control the valve from anywhere with an internet connection.

5.2. Bluetooth Control

For local control without WiFi, the valve can be operated via Bluetooth within a 10-meter range.

5.3. Voice Control (Alexa/Google Home)
