Follow these steps to set up your sewing machine:
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the sewing machine and all accessories from the packaging. Retain the packaging for future storage or transport.
- Placement: Place the machine on a stable, flat surface. Ensure adequate lighting for your work area.
- Familiarization: Identify the main components: needle bar, presser foot, bobbin winder, stitch regulator, and handwheel.
- Threading the Machine:
- Place a spool of thread on the spool pin.
- Guide the thread through the tension discs.
- Thread the take-up lever.
- Pass the thread through the needle bar guides and finally through the eye of the needle from front to back.

- Place an empty bobbin onto the bobbin winder spindle.
- Guide the thread from the spool through the bobbin tension disc.
- Wrap the thread a few times around the bobbin.

4. Operating Instructions
Once the machine is threaded and the bobbin is in place, you can begin sewing:
- Prepare Fabric: Place the fabric under the presser foot, aligning the edge with the desired seam allowance.
- Lower Presser Foot: Lower the presser foot using the presser foot lifter.
- Adjust Stitch Length: Use the lever type stitch regulator to select your desired stitch length. Moving the lever up or down adjusts the length, and the central position allows for reverse stitching.
- Start Sewing: Slowly turn the handwheel towards you to lower the needle into the fabric. Continue turning the handwheel or use the foot pedal (if applicable) to begin sewing. Guide the fabric gently.
- Reverse Stitching: To secure the beginning and end of a seam, push the stitch regulator lever to the reverse position and sew a few stitches, then return it to the forward position.
- Finishing a Seam: When you reach the end of your seam, sew a few reverse stitches to secure it. Raise the needle to its highest position, then raise the presser foot. Pull the fabric away from the machine.
- Cut Thread: Use the in-built thread cutter or a pair of scissors to cut the threads, leaving approximately 4-6 inches of thread tails.

5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures your sewing machine operates smoothly and extends its lifespan:
- Cleaning: Regularly remove lint and dust from the bobbin area, feed dogs, and tension discs using a small brush or lint remover.
- Oiling: Refer to the machine's oiling points (usually marked with small holes or indicated in a diagram) and apply a drop of high-quality sewing machine oil as recommended. Do not over-oil.
- Needle Replacement: Replace the needle frequently, especially when sewing different types of fabric or if it becomes dull or bent. Use only appropriate needle types for your machine.
- Storage: When not in use, cover the machine with the provided cover to protect it from dust and damage. Store in a dry, cool place.
6. Troubleshooting
Here are some common issues and their solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Skipped Stitches | Incorrect needle, bent needle, improper threading, wrong needle size for fabric. | Replace needle, re-thread machine, use correct needle size. |
| Thread Breaking | Incorrect tension, poor quality thread, bent needle, burr on needle plate. | Adjust tension, use good quality thread, replace needle, check for burrs. |
| Fabric Puckering | Too much tension, incorrect stitch length, dull needle. | Reduce tension, adjust stitch length, replace needle. |
| Machine Jams | Thread tangled in bobbin case, fabric pulled too hard. | Clear bobbin area, ensure proper bobbin insertion, guide fabric gently. |
