1. Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the NKF NB887UD replacement infrared (IR) remote control. This remote is designed to operate various Magnavox DVD and VCR recorder models without the need for programming or pairing. Simply install batteries, and the remote is ready for use.

2. Setup

2.1 Battery Installation

The remote control requires two (2) AAA alkaline batteries (not included) for operation. Follow these steps to install the batteries:

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
2. Press down on the latch and slide the battery cover downwards to open it.
3. Insert two new AAA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals match the diagrams inside the compartment.
4. Slide the battery cover back into place until it clicks securely.

2.2 Initial Use

This replacement remote control is pre-programmed for the listed Magnavox models. No additional programming or pairing is required. Once batteries are installed, the remote is ready for immediate use.

3. Operating Instructions

Point the remote control directly at the infrared sensor on your Magnavox DVD/VCR unit. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the unit.

• STANDBY-ON (Power): Turns the DVD/VCR unit on or off.

• REC (●): Initiates recording (VCR mode).
• SOURCE: Selects input source.
• SUBTITLE: Toggles subtitle display.
• SETUP: Accesses the system setup menu.

Note: Not all buttons may be functional with every compatible Magnavox model, depending on the original unit's features.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

To clean the remote control, use a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, lightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild cleaning solution. Do not use abrasive cleaners, alcohol, or solvents, as these can damage the remote's surface or internal components.

4.2 Battery Replacement

Replace batteries when the remote's response becomes sluggish or stops working. Always replace both batteries at the same time with new AAA alkaline batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries, as this can lead to leakage or malfunction.

4.3 Storage

If the remote control will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent potential leakage and damage to the remote.
