Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the BOMAZ Replacement Remote Control, designed to operate various Yamaha AV Receiver models. This remote offers a direct replacement solution, requiring no complex programming or setup. Simply insert batteries, and it is ready for use with your compatible Yamaha AV receiver.

Compatible Models: RX-V379, RX-V381, RX-V383, RX-V385, RX-V483, RX-V579, RX-V581, HTR-3068, RX-V585, HTR-2067, RX-V479, RX-V479BL, RX-V481D, RX-V583, HTR4068, HTR4069, HTR5069.

Setup

1. Battery Installation

The remote control requires two (2) AAA batteries (not included). Follow these steps to install them:

1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control.
2. Slide the cover downwards to open the compartment.
3. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align correctly with the markings inside the compartment.
4. Slide the battery compartment cover back into place until it clicks securely.

2. Initial Use

This replacement remote control is pre-programmed and requires no additional setup. Once batteries are installed, it is ready to operate your compatible Yamaha AV receiver.

Operating Instructions

Familiarize yourself with the layout and functions of the remote control buttons:

• Power Button (●): Located at the top right, press to turn the AV receiver On or Off.
• Zone A / Zone B Switch: Located at the top left, this slider allows you to select which audio zone (A or B) the remote will control.
• Scene Buttons (BD/DVD, TV, NET, RADIO): These buttons allow quick selection of predefined scenes or input sources.
• Input Selection Buttons (INPUT ▲/▼, USB, NET, BLUETOOTH): Use these to cycle through available input sources or directly select specific ones.
• Volume Control (VOLUME + / -): Adjust the master volume level.
• Mute Button: Mutes or unmutes the audio output.
• Navigation Pad (SETUP, OPTION, RETURN, TOP MENU, HOME, POP-UP/MENU, ENTER, Arrow Buttons): Used for navigating menus and confirming selections on your AV receiver's display.
• Colored Buttons (RED, GREEN, YELLOW, BLUE): These buttons provide access to specific functions within certain menus or applications, often indicated on the receiver's display.
• Playback Controls (MEMORY, TUNING, PRESET): Used for media playback, radio tuning, and managing presets.

Using the Remote

Point the remote control directly at the infrared sensor on your Yamaha AV receiver. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the receiver.

Maintenance

Cleaning

To clean the remote control, use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as these may damage the remote's surface or internal components.

Battery Replacement

Replace batteries when the remote's responsiveness decreases or it stops functioning. Refer to the "Battery Installation" section for instructions. Always replace both batteries at the same time with new AAA batteries.

Troubleshooting

• Remote not responding:
  • Ensure the remote has fresh AAA batteries installed correctly.
  • Check for any obstructions between the remote control and the AV receiver's infrared sensor.
  • Verify that you are pointing the remote directly at the receiver.
• Specific functions not working:
  • Confirm that the remote is set to the correct Zone (A or B) if your receiver supports multiple zones.
