Setup

1. Battery Installation (Main Unit)

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the main clock unit.
2. Open the battery compartment cover.
3. Insert 4 new AA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+ and - markings).
4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2. Battery Installation (Wireless Sensor)

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the wireless outdoor sensor.
2. Open the battery compartment cover.
3. Insert 2 new AAA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+ and - markings).
4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

3. Sensor Placement

Place the wireless outdoor sensor in a shaded, dry location away from direct sunlight and precipitation. Ensure it is within 100 feet (30 meters) of the main clock unit for optimal signal transmission. Avoid placing it near large metal objects or electronic devices that may interfere with the wireless signal.

4. Initial Setup and Atomic Time Synchronization

After installing batteries in both units, the main clock unit will automatically begin searching for the WWVB atomic time signal. This process may take several minutes to several hours, depending on your location and environmental conditions. During this time, the atomic signal icon (often a tower or antenna symbol) on the display may flash.

• For best reception, place the clock near a window, facing towards Fort Collins, Colorado.
• Once the signal is received and synchronized, the atomic signal icon will become solid, and the clock will display the correct time, date, and day of the week.
• The outdoor temperature from the wireless sensor should also appear on the display. If not, ensure the sensor is properly placed and its batteries are correctly installed.

5. Time Zone Selection

After atomic synchronization, you may need to set your local time zone. Refer to the buttons on the back of the clock:

• Press the ▲/ZONE button repeatedly to cycle through the available time zones (e.g., PST, MST, CST, EST). Select your desired time zone.

6. Daylight Saving Time (DST)

The clock is designed to automatically adjust for Daylight Saving Time. Ensure the DST setting is enabled if your region observes it. This setting is typically indicated by a 'DST' icon on the display. If manual adjustment is needed, consult the specific button (often combined with the time zone or a dedicated DST button) on the back of the unit.

Operation

1. Display Overview

The large LCD display provides the following information:

• Time: Hours, minutes, and seconds, with AM/PM indicator.
• Indoor Temperature: Current temperature measured by the main unit.
• Outdoor Temperature: Current temperature measured by the wireless sensor.
• Calendar: Day of the week, month, and date.
• Atomic Signal Indicator: Shows the status of WWVB signal reception.
• Time Zone Indicator: Displays the selected time zone.

2. Temperature Display Units

To switch between Fahrenheit (℉) and Celsius (℃) temperature units, locate the ▼/RCC button on the back of the clock. Press this button to toggle between the two units.

3. Manual Atomic Signal Search

If the clock loses synchronization or you wish to force a signal search, press and hold the ▼/RCC button for a few seconds. The atomic signal icon will begin flashing, indicating that the clock is actively searching for the WWVB signal.

Maintenance

1. Battery Replacement

When the display dims or the outdoor temperature reading becomes inconsistent, it is time to replace the batteries. Replace all batteries in both the main unit and the wireless sensor simultaneously to ensure optimal performance. Use new, high-quality alkaline batteries.

• No Outdoor Temperature Reading: Ensure the wireless sensor has fresh batteries and is placed within range (100 feet) of the main unit. Avoid obstructions between the sensor and the main unit. Press the CHANNEL button on the main unit to rescan for the sensor.
• Atomic Signal Not Received: The WWVB signal can be affected by atmospheric conditions, electrical interference, or building materials. Try placing the clock in a different location, especially overnight, as signal strength is often better at night.
• Buttons Not Responding: Remove and reinsert batteries to reset the unit.
