3. Setup and Assembly
Assembly typically requires two people and takes approximately 60-90 minutes. Ensure all parts are present before beginning assembly.
3.1 Unpacking and Parts Identification
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Refer to the parts list in your separate assembly guide to identify each piece. Keep all packaging materials until assembly is complete and the heater is tested.
3.2 Assembly Steps (General)
- Assemble the base and attach the wheels for mobility.
- Secure the main body panels and internal structure.
- Install the quartz glass tube carefully.
- Attach the top reflector and protective grilles.
- Connect the gas hose and regulator to the burner assembly.
3.3 Propane Tank Installation
- Ensure the propane tank valve is closed.
- Place a standard 20 lb. propane tank (not included) into the designated compartment at the base of the heater.
- Connect the regulator hose to the propane tank valve. Hand-tighten firmly.
- Perform a leak test: Apply a soap and water solution to all connections. Bubbles indicate a leak. If a leak is detected, tighten connections or replace faulty parts. Do not operate the heater if a leak is present.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Pre-Operation Checks
- Verify all connections are secure and free of leaks.
- Ensure the heater is on a level, stable surface.
- Confirm adequate clearances from combustible materials.
- Check that the glass tube is properly seated and undamaged.
4.2 Ignition Procedure
- Open the valve on the propane tank slowly.
- Turn the control knob on the heater to the "PILOT" position.
- Press and hold the control knob down, then press the igniter button repeatedly until the pilot flame lights.
- Continue to hold the control knob down for 15-30 seconds after the pilot lights to allow the thermocouple to heat up. Release the knob; the pilot should remain lit.
- If the pilot does not stay lit, repeat steps 2-4.
- Once the pilot is lit, turn the control knob to the "LOW" position, then slowly rotate it to the desired heat setting (LOW to HIGH). The main burner will ignite.
4.3 Shutting Down the Heater
- Turn the control knob to the "OFF" position.
- Close the valve on the propane tank completely.
- Allow the heater to cool down completely before moving or covering.

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your patio heater.
- Cleaning: Clean the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. For the glass tube, use a glass cleaner when the heater is cool.
- Inspections: Periodically inspect the gas hose for signs of wear, cuts, or cracks. Check all connections for tightness.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, disconnect the propane tank and store the heater in a dry, sheltered location. Use the provided protective cover to shield it from dust and weather elements.
- Burner Maintenance: Keep the burner and pilot assembly clean and free of insects or debris.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Heater will not light. | No gas flow; clogged pilot/burner; faulty igniter. | Check propane tank valve; ensure tank is not empty; clean pilot/burner; check igniter electrode gap. |
| Pilot flame will not stay lit. | Thermocouple not heating; gas pressure too low. | Hold control knob longer; check propane tank level; ensure connections are tight. |
| Low flame or yellow flame. | Low gas pressure; partially clogged burner. | Check propane tank level; clean burner ports; ensure regulator is functioning correctly. |
| Heater shuts off unexpectedly. | Low oxygen sensor activated; tilt switch activated; low gas. | Ensure adequate ventilation; check if heater was tilted; check propane tank level. |
