- Cleaning: Regularly clean the soldering iron tip using the included brass wool or a damp sponge. This removes oxidation and old solder, ensuring efficient heat transfer.
- Tinning: After cleaning and before storage, always tin the tip with a small amount of fresh solder. This protects the tip from oxidation.
- Replacement: Replace tips when they become excessively pitted or corroded, as this affects performance.
8.2 General Cleaning
- Ensure the unit is powered off and cooled down before cleaning.
- Wipe the station and tools with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Keep the air vents on the hot air gun and station clear of dust and debris.
9. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- No Power: Check the power cord connection and ensure the power switches on the station and iron are in the 'ON' position. Verify the power outlet is functional.
- Iron/Hot Air Not Heating: Ensure the connectors are fully inserted and fastened. Check the set temperature on the display. If the issue persists, the heating element may require inspection.
- Poor Soldering Performance: Clean and re-tin the soldering iron tip. Ensure the tip is appropriate for the task and the temperature setting is correct.
- Hot Air Gun Not Blowing: Check the airflow knob setting. Ensure the hot air gun is not obstructed.
- Error Codes: If the display shows an error code, consult the YIHUA support for specific guidance.
