4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Sensor Cleaning

Cleaning your camera's sensor requires precision and care. Always follow these steps to avoid damage.

1. Set Camera to Manual Cleaning Mode: Access your camera's menu and select the manual sensor cleaning function. For DSLR cameras, this will lift the mirror. (This step is not required for mirrorless cameras).
2. Initial Dust Removal: Use the camera air blower to gently blow off any loose dust particles from the sensor area. Hold the camera facing downwards to allow gravity to assist in dust removal.
3. Prepare Sensor Cleaning Swab: Open a new, vacuum-sealed sensor cleaning swab. Ensure it is dust-free.
4. Apply Cleaning Fluid: Place one drop of the sensor cleaning fluid onto the tip of the swab. Wait a few seconds for the fluid to spread evenly across the swab tip.
5. Clean the Sensor: Hold the swab body with the logo between your thumb and index finger for a stable grip. Gently slide the swab from one side of the sensor to the other (e.g., left to right) with even pressure. Flip the swab over to the clean side and slide it back across the sensor in the opposite direction (e.g., right to left).
6. Re-check and Repeat (if necessary): If water spots or remaining dust are visible after cleaning, use a new, dry sensor cleaning swab (without fluid) and repeat the sliding motion. Do not reuse swabs to prevent scratches from debris.
