3. Setup and Installation

Before beginning installation, ensure the power supply is disconnected at the circuit breaker to prevent electrical shock.

3.1 Receiver Wiring

The receiver acts as the intermediary between your power source and the light fixture. Follow the wiring diagram carefully.

Video: DEWENWILS Wireless Receiver Wiring Guide. This video illustrates the step-by-step process of connecting the receiver to your light fixture and power input. Ensure all connections are secure and power is off during installation.

  1. Disconnect Power: Turn off the main power supply to the circuit you will be working on at the circuit breaker.
  2. Identify Wires: Locate the Live (L) and Neutral (N) wires from your power supply and the Live (L) and Neutral (N) wires leading to your light fixture.
  3. Connect Power Input: Connect the Live (L) and Neutral (N) wires from your power supply to the "Input" terminals (L and N) on the receiver. Use a screwdriver to secure the wires.
  4. Connect Light Output: Connect the Live (L) and Neutral (N) wires leading to your light fixture to the "Output" terminals (L and N) on the receiver. Secure these wires with a screwdriver.
  5. Secure Receiver: Place the compact receiver inside the electrical box or fixture canopy.

3.2 Wall Switch Installation

The wireless wall switches do not require wiring and can be mounted in various locations.

Image: Traditional wired switch vs. DEWENWILS wireless switch. This image illustrates the difference in installation, showing a traditional switch with visible wiring compared to the clean, wire-free installation of the DEWENWILS wireless switch.

  1. Choose Location: Select a desired location for your wireless wall switch. It can be mounted on any flat surface.
  2. Mounting Options:
    • Adhesive Tape: For a non-permanent solution, use the provided double-sided adhesive tape to stick the switch to the wall.
    • Screws: For a more secure installation, use screws to attach the switch mounting plate to the wall.
  3. Attach Switch: Secure the wireless switch to the mounted plate or directly to the wall using the chosen method.

3.3 Pairing the Switches with the Receiver

The switches and receiver are typically pre-paired from the factory. If re-pairing is needed or if you are adding new switches/receivers, follow these steps:

  1. Restore Power: Turn on the main power supply to the circuit.
  2. Enter Pairing Mode: Press and hold the pairing button on the receiver (usually a small button on the side or top) until the indicator light on the receiver starts flashing.
  3. Activate Switch: Within 5 seconds of the receiver's indicator light flashing, press any button on the wireless wall switch you wish to pair.
  4. Confirmation: The receiver's indicator light will stop flashing and the connected light fixture will turn on/off, indicating successful pairing.
  5. Repeat: Repeat the process for any additional wireless wall switches you want to pair with the same receiver.

4. Operating Instructions

Once installed and paired, operating your DEWENWILS Wireless Switch Kit is straightforward.

4.1 Basic Operation

  • Turn On/Off: Simply press the "ON" or "OFF" button on any paired wireless wall switch to control the connected light fixture.

The DEWENWILS wireless switch system utilizes a strong RF signal, allowing control up to 30 meters (approximately 100 feet) in open areas. The signal can penetrate walls and doors, providing flexible placement options for your switches.

4.3 Expanding Your System

Image: DEWENWILS wireless switch system expandability. This diagram shows how multiple switches can control one receiver, and one switch can control multiple receivers, allowing for flexible system expansion.

You can expand your DEWENWILS wireless lighting system by adding more receivers or switches of the same model. Follow the pairing instructions (Section 3.3) to integrate new components into your existing setup. This allows for multi-way control (multiple switches controlling one light) or group control (one switch controlling multiple lights).

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the surfaces of the receiver and switches with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: The wireless wall switches are battery-powered. If a switch becomes unresponsive, the battery may need replacement. Refer to the product specifications for battery type.
  • Environmental Conditions: Ensure the devices are used within their specified operating temperature and humidity ranges. Avoid exposure to extreme conditions.
