2.5 Threading the Machine

Proper threading is crucial for successful sewing. Refer to the diagrams on the machine or the full instruction manual for detailed steps.

  1. Bobbin Winding: Place a spool of thread on the spool pin. Guide the thread through the bobbin winding tension disc and around an empty bobbin. Place the bobbin on the bobbin winder spindle and push it to the right. Start the machine to wind the bobbin.
  2. Inserting the Bobbin: Open the bobbin cover plate. Insert the wound bobbin into the bobbin case, ensuring the thread unwinds in the correct direction (usually counter-clockwise). Pull the thread through the tension spring and out through the slot.
  3. Upper Threading: Place a spool of thread on the spool pin. Guide the thread through the thread guides, tension dial, and take-up lever. Thread the needle from front to back using the needle threader if needed.
  4. Bringing up the Bobbin Thread: Hold the upper thread lightly. Turn the hand-wheel towards you to lower and raise the needle. The needle will catch the bobbin thread, forming a loop. Pull the loop up through the needle plate with the upper thread.
  5. Pull both threads (upper and bobbin) under the presser foot and towards the back of the machine.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Stitch Selection

Your machine offers 12 built-in stitch patterns. Rotate the Stitch Selection Button to choose the desired stitch. Refer to the diagram below for stitch types.

3.2 Speed Control

The machine features two speed settings. Use the speed switch (OFF L H) to select between Low (L) and High (H) speeds. Always start with a lower speed, especially for beginners or intricate work.

3.3 Starting and Stopping Sewing

  1. Place your fabric under the presser foot and lower the presser foot lever.
  2. Gently press the foot pedal to start sewing. The harder you press, the faster the machine will sew (if using variable speed). Alternatively, use the ON/OFF switch for continuous sewing at the selected speed.
  3. To stop, release the foot pedal or switch the machine OFF.

3.4 Reverse Stitching

Press and hold the Reverse Button to sew in reverse. This is useful for securing stitches at the beginning and end of a seam.

3.5 Thread Tension Adjustment

The thread tension dial controls the balance between the upper and bobbin threads. Adjust as needed to achieve an even stitch. Test on a scrap piece of fabric before sewing your project.

3.6 Using the Thread Cutter

After completing a seam, use the built-in thread cutter located on the side of the machine to trim threads cleanly.

3.7 Versatile Use

This compact sewing machine is suitable for various projects, including patching clothes, creating DIY crafts, making masks, or sewing new garments.

  • Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
