5. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to set up and install your MEIKEE Solar Lights:

  1. Unpack and Inspect: Carefully remove all items from the packaging. Inspect each light for any signs of damage.
  2. Initial Activation: Locate the power button on the back of the solar light. Press the button firmly once to turn on the device. The light may flash briefly, indicating it is active.
  3. Choose Installation Location: Select a location that receives direct sunlight for at least 6-8 hours daily to ensure optimal charging. The ideal mounting height is between 3 to 5 meters (approximately 10 to 16 feet) for best motion detection and light coverage. Ensure the motion sensor is not obstructed.
  4. Mark Drilling Points: Hold the light in the desired position on the wall and mark the screw hole location.
  5. Drill and Insert Wall Plugs: Use a drill to create a hole at the marked spot. Insert the provided wall plug into the hole.
  6. Mount the Light: Align the light's mounting hole with the wall plug and secure it with the provided screw. Ensure the light is firmly attached.

6. Operating Instructions

The MEIKEE Solar Lights operate automatically once activated and sufficiently charged.

  • Daytime Operation: During daylight hours, the solar panel will absorb sunlight and convert it into electrical energy, which is stored in the internal lithium polymer battery. The light will remain off during this period.
  • Nighttime Operation: As darkness falls, the light enters standby mode. When the PIR motion sensor detects movement within its 20-foot, 120° range, the 150 LEDs will illuminate at 500 lumens of warm white light.
  • Automatic Shut-off: The light will remain on for approximately 30 seconds after motion is detected. If no further motion is detected, it will automatically turn off to conserve energy and return to standby mode.

7. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your MEIKEE Solar Lights, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Clean Solar Panel: Regularly wipe the solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, leaves, or snow. A clean panel ensures maximum sunlight absorption and charging efficiency.
  • Clear Obstructions: Ensure no trees, bushes, or other objects are blocking direct sunlight from reaching the solar panel, especially during peak charging hours.
  • Check Mounting: Periodically check that the light is securely mounted to prevent it from falling due to weather or vibrations.
  • Battery Life: The integrated lithium polymer battery is designed for long-term use. If the light's performance significantly degrades over time, it may indicate the battery is reaching the end of its lifespan. Battery replacement is generally not user-serviceable.

  • Battery is depleted or faulty.
  • Relocate the light to an area with 6-8 hours of direct sunlight.
  • Press the power button firmly to activate the light.
  • Clean the solar panel and remove any obstructions.
  • Allow several days of full sun charging. If issue persists, contact support.
Light stays on constantly or flashes.
  • Motion sensor is continuously triggered.
  • Light sensor malfunction.
  • Ensure the light is not installed near moving objects (e.g., tree branches, busy pathways) that might constantly trigger the sensor.
  • If the problem persists, try deactivating and reactivating the light.
Light is dim or only stays on for a short time.
  • Insufficient charging due to cloudy weather or poor placement.
  • Solar panel is dirty.
  • Battery capacity reduced over time.
  • Ensure optimal sun exposure for several days.
