3. Setup

Battery Installation

The AIMILAR AY4052-2 timer requires 2 AAA batteries (included). To install or replace batteries:

1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the timer.
2. Slide the cover downwards to open it.
3. Insert 2 AAA batteries, ensuring the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
4. Slide the cover back into place until it clicks securely.

The back of the timer shows the battery cover, which requires 2 AAA batteries for operation.

4. Operating Instructions

Setting the Timer (Countdown)

1. Ensure the timer is in countdown mode (indicated by "DOWN" on the display). If not, press the START button to switch modes if it's currently counting up.
2. Use the numerical keypad (0-9) to directly input the desired time in hours, minutes, and seconds. For example, to set 1 hour, 23 minutes, and 0 seconds, type "12300". To set 7 minutes and 50 seconds, type "0750".
3. Press the START button to begin the countdown.
4. To pause the countdown, press the START button again. Press it once more to resume.
5. To stop and reset the timer to zero, press the STOP/RESET button.

Using the Stopwatch (Count Up)

1. Ensure the timer display is at "00:00:00". If not, press STOP/RESET to clear any previous settings.
2. Press the START button to begin counting up. The display will show "UP".
3. To pause the stopwatch, press the START button again. Press it once more to resume.
4. To stop and reset the stopwatch to zero, press the STOP/RESET button.

Alarm and Mute Function

• When the countdown reaches zero, the timer will emit a loud alarm and the LED indicator will flash.
• To stop the alarm, press any button on the keypad. The timer will then revert to the last set time (memory function).
• To mute the alarm sound, locate the mute switch on the side of the timer. Slide it to the "off" position (speaker icon with a cross). The flashing light will still activate when the timer reaches zero.
• To re-enable the alarm sound, slide the mute switch back to the "on" position (speaker icon).

Power Saving (Auto Shut-off)

The timer is designed to conserve battery life. If left inactive for approximately 10 minutes, the display will turn off, and the timer will enter a sleep mode. To reactivate the timer, simply press any button on the keypad.
