3. Setup and First Use
3.1 Unpacking
- Carefully remove the machine from its packaging.
- Remove all protective films and packaging materials.
- Place the machine on a stable, level surface, away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
3.2 Initial Cleaning
Before first use, clean the water tank, drip tray, and milk carafe (if applicable) with warm water and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly.
3.3 Filling the Water Tank
- Remove the water tank from the machine.
- Fill the tank with fresh, cold tap water up to the MAX indicator.
- Replace the water tank securely in the machine.
3.4 Filling the Bean Hopper
- Open the lid of the bean hopper.
- Pour fresh coffee beans into the hopper. Do not overfill.
- Close the lid securely.
3.5 Power Connection and First Rinse Cycle
- Plug the power cord into a 230 Volt electrical outlet.
- Turn on the machine using the power button.
- The machine will typically perform an automatic rinse cycle. Follow any on-screen prompts.
4. Operating Instructions
The Saeco New Royal OTC features an alphanumeric keypad for intuitive control.
4.1 Making Espresso
- Place a cup under the coffee spout.
- Select the 'Espresso' option from the display.
- Press the start button. The machine will grind the beans and brew the espresso.
4.2 One-Touch Cappuccino/Latte Macchiato
- Ensure the milk system is properly connected and contains fresh milk.
- Place a suitable glass under the milk and coffee spouts.

4.3 Adjusting Settings

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

5.2 Weekly Cleaning

- Water Tank: Clean the water tank with a soft brush and mild detergent.
5.3 Descaling
