Setup

1. Setting the Time

  1. Pull the Crown: Gently pull the crown (the small knob on the side of the watch case) outwards to the first position.
  2. Adjust the Hands: Rotate the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to move the hour and minute hands to the desired time. The watch features both 12-hour and 24-hour (military time) markings for convenience.
  3. Push the Crown Back: Once the correct time is set, push the crown back into its original position. This will start the watch movement.

2. Adjusting the Nylon Strap

The watch comes with a slip-through nylon (NATO-style) band. To adjust the fit:

  1. Thread the Strap: Pass the long end of the strap through the spring bars and under the watch case.
  2. Secure the Watch: Ensure the watch case is centered on the strap.
  3. Adjust Length: Pull the strap through the metal loops until it fits comfortably around your wrist. Excess strap can be folded back and tucked into the loops.

Operating

1. Reading the Time

The watch features a clear analog display with both 12-hour and inner 24-hour markings for military time. The hour and minute hands indicate the current time, while the red second hand sweeps continuously.

2. Luminous Dial

The entire dial of the MD-026 watch is luminous, providing excellent readability in low-light conditions. For optimal glow, expose the watch face to a strong light source (natural or artificial) for a few minutes. The luminescence will gradually fade over time but can be recharged with light exposure.

3. Water Resistance (50 Meters)

Your Infantry MD-026 watch is water-resistant up to 50 meters (5 ATM). This means it is suitable for short periods of recreational swimming, showering, or washing hands. It is not recommended for diving, snorkeling, or prolonged water activities. Ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any contact with water.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

Wipe the watch case and crystal with a soft, damp cloth. For the nylon strap, it can be hand-washed with mild soap and water, then air-dried. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the watch's finish or strap.

2. Battery Replacement

The watch is powered by one LR44 battery (included). When the watch stops or the second hand begins to skip, it indicates a low battery. Battery replacement should ideally be performed by a qualified watch technician to ensure the water resistance seal is properly maintained, especially since the caseback is a pop-off type.

3. Storage

When not in use, store your watch in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Keeping it in its original box or a watch case can help protect it from dust and scratches.

Troubleshooting

  • Watch Not Running: Ensure the crown is fully pushed in. If it is, the battery may need replacement.
  • Inaccurate Time: This could be due to a low battery or exposure to strong magnetic fields. Replace the battery if needed, or move the watch away from magnetic sources.
  • Weak Luminous Glow: The luminous material requires exposure to light to charge. Ensure the watch has been exposed to sufficient light before expecting it to glow in the dark.
  • Water Inside the Watch: If condensation or water appears inside the watch, immediately take it to a professional watch repair service. This indicates a compromised water seal.
