3. Assembly Instructions

The JMT ZD850 is provided as a frame kit and requires complete assembly. No assembly tools are included. You will need a 2.5mm hex wrench, a 2.0mm hex wrench or screwdriver, and a 5.5mm sleeve. A complete set of screwdriver tools is recommended.

3.1. Required Tools (Not Included):

  • 2.5mm Hex Wrench
  • 2.0mm Hex Wrench or Screwdriver
  • 5.5mm Sleeve
  • (Recommended) Complete set of precision screwdrivers

3.2. Step-by-Step Assembly:

  1. Prepare the Center Plates: Identify the bottom (3.0mm) and upper (1.5mm) center plates. Attach the necessary standoffs and mounting hardware to the bottom plate as indicated in the kit.
  2. Assemble the Arms: Insert the 20mm carbon tube arms into the aluminum folding mechanisms. Secure them using the nylon clamps. Ensure all connections are tight but do not overtighten to avoid damaging the carbon fiber.
  3. Attach Arms to Center Plate: Mount the assembled arms to the main center plate using the provided hardware. The arms are designed with an upturned 5-degree angle.
  4. Install Motor Mounts: Attach the 8-hole motor mounts to the ends of each carbon fiber arm. These mounts are compatible with various motor sizes.
  5. Construct the Landing Gear: Assemble the tripod landing gear using the 16mm carbon tubes for the main legs and the 10mm carbon tubes for support. The tripod crossbar is 500mm wide, and the height is 350mm. Ensure the double-tube carbon fiber supports are correctly installed for maximum stability.
  6. Attach Landing Gear: Secure the assembled landing gear to the bottom of the main center plate.
  7. Install PTZ Board Hook Head: Attach the 10x330mm carbon tube hook head for the PTZ board to the designated area on the frame. This allows for flexible camera mounting.
  8. Final Inspection: After all components are assembled, carefully inspect all screws, bolts, and connections to ensure they are secure. Verify that all carbon fiber tubes are properly seated and free from damage.

4. Operating Considerations

  • Cleaning: Keep the frame clean from dirt, dust, and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals that could damage the carbon fiber or other materials.
  • Storage: Store the frame in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The foldable arms allow for more compact storage.
  • Damage Repair: In case of damage to carbon fiber components, replace the affected part immediately. Do not attempt to fly with a damaged frame.
