Setup Instructions
1. Receiver Setup (ACT-5802)
- Placement: Position the receiver on a stable, flat surface, away from potential sources of interference such as Wi-Fi routers, microwave ovens, or other 5 GHz devices. Ensure adequate ventilation.
- Antenna Connection: Connect the two supplied antennas to the ANTENNA A and ANTENNA B connectors on the rear panel of the receiver. Ensure they are securely tightened.
- Power Connection: Connect the power adapter to the DC IN jack on the rear panel of the receiver, then plug the adapter into an appropriate AC power outlet.
- Audio Output Connection: Connect the receiver's audio output (XLR or 1/4" jack) to the input of your mixer, amplifier, or audio recording device using the supplied audio cable.
2. Handheld Microphone Setup (ACT-58H2)
- Battery Installation: Unscrew the lower part of the microphone body to reveal the battery compartment. Insert two fresh AA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment. Screw the lower part back on securely.
- Power On: Press and hold the power button on the microphone until the display illuminates.
- Pairing (ACT Sync):
- On the receiver, select the desired channel (e.g., Channel 1 or Channel 2) using the control buttons.
- Press the "ACT" button on the receiver. The ACT indicator will flash.
- Align the microphone's IR window with the receiver's IR window (usually located on the front panel) within 30 cm (1 foot).
- The microphone will automatically sync with the receiver. Once synced, the receiver's ACT indicator will stop flashing, and the microphone's display will show the matched channel.
Operating Instructions
1. Powering On/Off
- Receiver: Press the power button on the front panel. The OLED display will illuminate.
- Microphone: Press and hold the power button until the display illuminates (on) or turns off (off).
2. Channel Selection and Adjustment
- The ACT-5802 receiver allows for automatic frequency scanning to find clear channels. Refer to the receiver's display and menu buttons for navigation.
- Once a clear channel is selected on the receiver, use the ACT Sync function (as described in Setup) to pair the microphone to the new channel.
3. Volume Control
- Receiver Output Level: Adjust the volume knob on the front panel of the ACT-5802 receiver to control the audio output level sent to your mixer or amplifier.
- Microphone Gain: Some microphones may have internal gain adjustments. Consult the microphone's specific instructions if needed. Generally, start with a moderate gain setting.
4. Display Information
The OLED display on both the receiver and microphones provides critical information such as channel number, frequency, battery status, and RF/AF signal strength. Monitor these displays during operation for optimal performance.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning
- Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior surfaces of the receiver and microphones.
- Do not use liquid cleaners, solvents, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the finish or internal components.
- For microphone grilles, gently wipe with a slightly damp cloth and ensure it is completely dry before use.
2. Battery Care
- Always remove batteries from the microphones if they will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage and damage.
- Replace batteries promptly when the low battery indicator appears on the microphone's display.
- Use high-quality alkaline or rechargeable AA batteries.
3. Storage
- Store the system in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity.
- Keep the original packaging for safe transport and storage.
