1. Setup

1.1 Unboxing and Components

The HENEX HC-3208R package includes the wireless barcode scanner with an LCD screen, a wireless receiver base, a USB charging cable, and a user manual.

1.2 Connection Modes

The scanner supports both wireless 2.4G and USB wired connections. It is compatible with Windows XP/7/8/10, Mac OS, and Linux. Bluetooth connection is not supported.

  • Wireless 2.4G Connection: The scanner connects wirelessly to your computer via the provided base, which acts as a receiver.
  • USB Wired Connection: The scanner can also be connected directly to your computer using the USB cable. This mode does not require driver software installation.

1.3 Wireless Pairing

The scanner base features a one-key pairing function. If the wireless connection mode is not working, you can re-pair the scanner with the base.

2. Operating Instructions

2.1 Power Management

The scanner can be woken up from standby mode by pressing the scan button once.

2.2 Scanning Modes

The HC-3208R supports two primary scanning modes:

  • Key Trigger Mode: Press the trigger button to scan each barcode individually.
  • Continuous Scanning Mode: The scanner continuously scans barcodes without needing to press the trigger. This mode is ideal for hands-free operation when the scanner is placed on its base.

2.3 Upload Modes

The scanner offers two data upload modes:

  • Instant Upload Mode: Barcode data is synchronously uploaded to your connected device (laptop, PC) in real-time as it is scanned.
  • Storage Mode: Barcodes are stored in the scanner's internal 16MB memory. Data can be uploaded to your device later when needed. This mode is mainly applicable for warehouse inventory and logistics information storage.

2.4 LCD Screen Display

The 1.8-inch color LCD screen provides real-time information, including:

2.5 Supported Barcode Types

The scanner recognizes a wide range of 1D and 2D barcodes, including:

  • 1D: UPC-A, UPC-E, EAN-8, EAN-13 (with complementary), Code128, Code39, Code 39Full ASCII, Codabar, Industrial/Interleaved 2 of 5, Code93, MSI, Code11, ISBN, ISSN, GS1 Databar Code32.
  • 2D: QR Code, Data Matrix, PDF417, Aztec code, Maxicode.

It can effectively scan fuzzy, smudged, reflective, and damaged digital or printed barcodes.

2.6 Configuration Options

The scanner's built-in system allows for various settings adjustments. To enter the system settings, press the up and down buttons simultaneously. Use the up/down buttons for selection and the scan button to confirm.

  • Keyboard Language: Set keyboard language input for multiple countries (e.g., American, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, etc.).
  • Prefix/Suffix: Add custom prefixes or suffixes to scanned barcode data.
  • Sound Settings: Adjust the scanner's prompt sound size (e.g., high, middle, low volume).
  • Vibration: Enable or disable vibration prompts during scanning.
  • Dormancy Setting: Configure the time before the scanner enters standby sleep state (e.g., 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes, Never sleep).
  • Transfer Rate: Set the speed of barcode information uploading (e.g., Fast, Medium speed, Low speed, Super low speed).
  • Case Settings: Convert barcode information into English case settings (e.g., convert to uppercase, convert to lowercase, case exchange, normal).
  • Barcode End: Set whether to add a new line after uploading barcode information (e.g., CR, LF, CR+LF, TAB, Not add).

3. Maintenance

3.1 Battery and Charging

The scanner is equipped with a 2200mAh rechargeable high-capacity battery, providing 4-6 hours of working time and up to 360 hours of standby time after a full charge (approximately 2 hours).

There are two methods for charging the scanner:

  • Charging with Base: Place the scanner on its charging base. The base also functions as a wireless receiver.
  • Charging with USB Cable: Connect the scanner directly to a power source using the provided USB cable.

4. Troubleshooting

4.1 Re-pairing the Scanner

If the wireless connection mode is not working, you may need to re-pair the scanner with its base. Use the one-key pairing function on the base.

4.2 Clearing Stored Data

After uploading stored barcode information, you can clear the data from the scanner's memory through the system settings. Navigate to the 'Transport Mode' option and select 'Clear count data'.

4.3 Restoring Defaults

To revert all scanner settings to their original factory defaults, navigate to the 'Restore Defaults' option in the system settings and confirm.
