Operating Instructions
Brewing Coffee
- Fill Water Reservoir: Open the top lid and fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water using the carafe. Refer to the ounce markings on the carafe for accurate measurement. Do not exceed the 5-cup (25 oz) maximum fill line.
- Insert Filter: Place a 4-6 cup basket-style paper filter (not included) into the Lift & Clean Filter Basket. Alternatively, if a reusable filter is provided, place it in the basket.
- Add Coffee Grounds: Add the desired amount of ground coffee into the filter. A general guideline is one level tablespoon of ground coffee per cup (5 oz) of water, but adjust to your personal taste.
- Position Carafe: Place the carafe with its lid securely on the warming plate. Ensure the carafe is properly seated to activate the Grab-a-Cup Auto Pause feature.
- Start Brewing: Plug the coffee maker into a standard electrical outlet. Press the ON/OFF switch. The indicator light will illuminate, signifying that the brewing cycle has begun.
- Grab-a-Cup Auto Pause: If you wish to pour a cup before the brewing cycle is complete, you can temporarily remove the carafe. The brewing will pause. Return the carafe to the warming plate within 30 seconds to resume brewing and prevent overflow.
- Completion: Once the brewing cycle is complete, the coffee maker will automatically switch to a "keep warm" mode. The ON/OFF switch light will remain illuminated until manually turned off.
- Serve: Carefully remove the carafe from the warming plate and pour your coffee.
