Setup

1. Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge your POCKETALK Plus using the provided USB cable and a compatible power adapter. The device will indicate charging status on its screen.

2. Powering On/Off

• To Power On: Press and hold the Power button until the screen illuminates.
• To Power Off: Press and hold the Power button, then select 'Power Off' on the screen.

3. Initial Setup & Network Connection

Upon first power-on, follow the on-screen prompts to select your preferred language, time zone, and connect to a network. The POCKETALK Plus requires an internet connection for translation functionality. You can connect via:

• Wi-Fi: Select your Wi-Fi network from the list and enter the password.
• LTE Cellular Data: The device comes with a complimentary 2-year LTE cellular data plan for use in over 130 countries. This plan activates automatically upon initial setup in a supported region. Ensure cellular data is enabled in settings if you encounter connectivity issues.

Note: The device will not function offline for translation.

Operating Instructions

1. Voice Translation

1. On the main screen, select the two languages for translation. The top language is your speaking language, and the bottom is the target language. Tap on each to change.
2. Press and hold the large translation button on the front of the device.
3. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the button when you finish speaking.
4. The device will display and audibly play the translation in the target language.

2. Camera & Image Translation

To translate written text:

1. Tap the camera icon on the device's screen.
2. Point the camera at the text you wish to translate (e.g., a sign, menu, or document).
3. Tap the capture button. The device will process the image and display the translated text directly on top of the original text on the screen. An optional audio translation may also be available.

3. Pronunciation Mode

Access Pronunciation Mode through the device's menu to practice speaking in a foreign language. The device will provide feedback on your pronunciation.

4. Currency & Unit Conversion

Navigate to the conversion tool in the device's menu to perform real-time conversions for currency, length, weight, and temperature. This feature is useful when traveling or dealing with international measurements.
