4. Setup and Installation

4.1. Rear-Facing Installation (Group 0: 0-10 kg)

For infants from birth up to 10 kg, the car seat must be installed in a rear-facing position. This provides optimal protection for the child's head and neck.

1. Place the car seat on the vehicle seat, ensuring it is stable.
2. Recline the car seat to the most reclined position suitable for an infant.
3. Route the vehicle's 3-point seat belt through the designated blue belt guides for rear-facing installation.
4. Fasten the vehicle seat belt and pull it tight to remove any slack, ensuring the car seat is firmly secured and does not move more than 2.5 cm (1 inch) in any direction.
5. Ensure the infant reducer and headrest are correctly positioned for your child's comfort and support.

4.2. Forward-Facing Installation (Group 1: 9-18 kg)

For children weighing between 9 kg and 18 kg, the car seat can be installed in a forward-facing position.

1. Place the car seat on the vehicle seat, ensuring it is stable.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Securing Your Child

1. Place your child in the car seat.
2. Bring the two harness buckles together and insert them into the main buckle until you hear a click.
3. Pull the harness adjustment strap located at the front of the seat to tighten the harness. Ensure the harness straps are snug against your child's shoulders and hips, with no slack.
4. To loosen the harness, press the harness release button (usually located near the adjustment strap) and pull the shoulder straps outwards.

5.2. Adjusting Recline Positions

The NANIA COSMO Car Seat offers 5 recline positions for your child's comfort. To adjust the recline, locate the recline lever (typically at the front or base of the seat) and pull it while simultaneously pushing or pulling the seat to the desired position. Ensure the seat locks securely into place.

6. Maintenance

• Covers: The reducer and headrest covers are removable and can be hand-washed at 30°C. Refer to the care label for specific instructions. Do not machine wash, tumble dry, iron, or dry clean.

• Harness is Difficult to Tighten/Loosen: Ensure the harness straps are not twisted. Check that the harness adjustment strap is free from obstructions. If the harness is still stiff, ensure the child is seated correctly and the straps are not caught under them.
• Buckle Not Latching: Ensure both buckle tongues are fully inserted into the main buckle until you hear a distinct click. Check for any debris obstructing the buckle mechanism.
