Safety Information
Always observe the following safety precautions when using the rivet gun:
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, to protect against flying debris.
- Ensure the workpiece is securely clamped or held before riveting.
- Do not use the rivet gun for purposes other than its intended use.
- Keep hands and fingers clear of the tool's jaws and moving parts during operation.
- Store the tool in its case with the handle locked when not in use to prevent accidental operation.
Setup
Before using your rivet gun, ensure the correct rivet head (nosepiece) is installed for the size of rivet you intend to use.
- Select the Correct Rivet Head: Choose the nosepiece that matches the diameter of your rivet. The rivet heads are color-coded and marked for easy identification (e.g., 3/32", 1/8", 5/32", 3/16").
- Remove Current Rivet Head: Unscrew the currently installed rivet head from the front of the tool by turning it counter-clockwise.
- Install New Rivet Head: Select the appropriate rivet head from the storage on the handle. Screw it clockwise into the front of the tool until it is finger-tight. No additional tools are required for this step.

Operating Instructions
Follow these steps to effectively use your NEU MASTER Rivet Gun:
- Drill Pilot Hole: Drill a hole through the materials to be joined. The hole diameter should match the rivet diameter.
- Insert Rivet: Insert the rivet's mandrel (the pin) into the installed rivet head. The rivet body should then be placed through the pre-drilled holes in your workpiece.
- Position the Tool: Place the rivet gun's nosepiece firmly against the surface of the material, ensuring the rivet is fully seated.
- Operate the Handles: Squeeze the handles of the rivet gun together firmly and steadily. You may need to squeeze multiple times until you feel the mandrel snap off.
- Remove Spent Mandrel: Once the mandrel snaps, release the handles. The spent mandrel will typically fall out. If it remains in the tool, open the handles fully and tilt the tool downwards to allow it to drop out.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your rivet gun:
- Cleaning: After each use, wipe down the tool with a clean, dry cloth to remove any dust or debris.
- Jaw Inspection: Periodically inspect the jaws for wear or damage. Replace if necessary to maintain proper gripping of rivets.
- Lubrication: Apply a small amount of light machine oil to the pivot points and jaws occasionally to ensure smooth operation.
- Storage: Store the rivet gun in its original BMC carrying case in a dry, clean environment. Use the handle lock to keep the handles closed for compact storage and to prevent accidental opening.

Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your rivet gun, consider the following common solutions:
- Rivet Not Setting: Ensure the correct size rivet head is installed for the rivet being used. Verify that the pilot hole diameter matches the rivet diameter. Apply firm, consistent pressure when squeezing the handles.
- Mandrel Stuck in Tool: Fully open the handles and tilt the tool downwards. If the mandrel does not fall out, carefully use a thin, pointed object to push it out from the front of the nosepiece. Refer to the video in the Setup section for a visual demonstration of mandrel removal.
- Difficulty Squeezing Handles: Check for any obstructions in the jaw mechanism. Ensure the tool is clean and lubricated.
