4. Fuel and Starting Procedures

Fuel Requirements:

This unit is powered by a 2-stroke engine and requires a mixture of gasoline and 2-stroke engine oil. Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 89 or higher. Mix with ECHO-approved 2-stroke oil at a 50:1 ratio (50 parts gasoline to 1 part oil).

Starting the Engine:

  1. Place the blower on a flat, stable surface.
  2. Ensure the ignition switch is in the 'ON' position.
  3. Push the primer bulb 5-7 times until fuel is visible in the return line.
  4. Move the choke lever to the 'CLOSED' (full choke) position.
  5. Pull the starter handle firmly and smoothly until the engine attempts to start (usually 1-3 pulls).
  6. Once the engine 'pops' or attempts to start, move the choke lever to the 'HALF CHOKE' position.
  7. Pull the starter handle again until the engine starts.
  8. Allow the engine to warm up for 30-60 seconds, then move the choke lever to the 'OPEN' (run) position.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your ECHO PB-9010T blower. Always disconnect the spark plug wire before performing any maintenance.

Maintenance Schedule:

Air Filter:

The air filter is crucial for engine protection. Access the air filter cover (tool-less design), remove the filter, and clean it with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely before reinstallation. Replace if damaged or excessively dirty.

Spark Plug:

Remove the spark plug using a spark plug wrench. Inspect for carbon buildup or wear. Clean or replace as necessary. Ensure the correct gap is maintained (refer to the specifications section).

Fuel Filter:

The fuel filter is located inside the fuel tank. Periodically check for debris and replace if clogged. Use a hook or wire to carefully retrieve the filter from the tank.

Storage:

Before storing the blower for an extended period, drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops to clear the carburetor. Clean the unit thoroughly and store in a dry, well-ventilated area, out of reach of children.
